Marvel Comics released the preview of the much-anticipated 'The Falcon & The Winter Soldier #1'. The five-part miniseries featuring Sam Wilson/The Falcon and Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier is written by Derek Landy and see the duo tracking Hydra's new head honcho.

Here's the official preview:

The Falcon & The Winter Soldier #1

An office of dead government agents. A gifted new killer. Two ex-Captain Americas...
When a dramatic attempt on the life of Bucky Barnes reunites him with Sam Wilson, the two old friends are plunged headlong into a race to uncover the new leader of Hydra before a mass casualty event announces the terror group's resurgence to the world. The clock is ticking...
Derek Landy and Federico Vicentini team up for a pulse-pounding action spectacular!

The preview begins with Bucky meditating at his Indiana home when he gets attacked by a group of agents. A bloody and violent gunfight ensues resulting in the deaths of all the armed agents and Bucky speeds off with the home now compromised. Meanwhile, Sam Wilson investigates the Office of Federal Utilities (OFU) in New York that tracks terrorist training camps around the country. Sam follows the lead only to find a trail of dead bodies while Bucky is also seen at the OFU. The preview ends with Sam asking Bucky if he did this.

At this moment, it is still unclear if the upcoming Disney+ series will follow the same template as this comic considering how things panned out in the aftermath of 'Avengers: Endgame'. If we compare this to the series preview, it mentions HYDRA which is interesting since we last heard from the organization in the MCU in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' where it was revealed that S.H.I.E.L.D. was in fact HYDRA all along.  However, they were recurring foes in Marvel's TV series, 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

While very less is known about the upcoming Disney+'s 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's plotline, bringing HYDRA back as the main nemesis does make sense considering they were the ones who brainwashed Bucky and he's never had a chance to get even. Adding to this is the fact that Baron Zemo is back in the series. Played by Daniel Brühl, the character was last seen in "Captain America: Civil War' and coincidentally, he was seen as the new leader of HYDRA in a recent comic plotline and goes up against Sam who has taken on the Cap's mantle.

For now, this is major speculation. It still remains to be seen if the showrunners look at The Falcon & The Winter Soldier #1 as a blueprint for the upcoming series.

'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' will debut this August on Disney+.
