'The Curse of Oak Island' Season 7 Finale Preview: Team isn't leaving island without a historical breakthrough
Sorry Oak Islanders, Season 7 of 'The Curse Of Oak Island' is coming to an end on April 28. We have enjoyed watching the Lagina brothers and their team dig and scour the island for any sort of treasure, or at least understand the historical importance of it. We have seen them discover the crucial coconut fibre that's supposed to be a step away from the flood tunnels. Along with that, they have also found numerous spikes from supposedly burnt ships. They didn't find the 90 foot stone, though it was great fun to watch Rick Lagina on his hands and knees near a Rhododendron bush in the backyard of a Dartmouth Heritage Museum.
Well, all good things must come to an end. The harsh winter is going to set in soon and all drilling activities will have to stop. The synopsis of the finale is out and it reads: "It’s the end of drilling season on Oak Island and after a year that saw the fellowship make a number of groundbreaking discoveries in their quest to solve a 225-year-old treasure mystery, the team is determined not to leave the island without making at least one more historic breakthrough."
Historical breakthrough is a common refrain throughout the show and fans are eagerly waiting for the fellowship to find something of value, even if it is not the fabled treasure. The Laginas have tried excavating a different shaft, but nothing came out of that. In the previous episode, they investigated Samuel Ball's property and found a mysterious tunnel, which was blocked.
In another episode, the team was sure that Daniel McGinnis's discovery of the 13 feet depression near the oak tree, back in 1795, was not an accident and that they were actually looking for something. So, they searched the McGinnis Foundation. Could he have found something and hidden it on the island? The questions are never-ending.
In another emotional episode, the remaining members of the Restall family returned to Oak Island and recalled their tragic tale. Back in the 1960s, Robert Restall and his son lost their lives, trying to look for the treasure.
Tune into 'The Curse Of Oak Island' on History Channel at 9pm, Tuesday.
