When will 'The Blacklist' Season 8 Episode 4 air? Red's hunt for Liz might end up with her targeting him
Maybe because it's the final season, but 'The Blacklist' has been teasing us for too long now. Premiering back in November 2020, the NBC crime drama took its Season 8 off air by the end of the month, with just the first two episodes out. Tonight comes the big Episode 3 aka the Winter Premiere after over a month of not watching the after effects of Red killing Katarina. Titled '16 Ounces', the episode will see Liz, aka Megan Boone's Elizabeth Keen try to exact revenge on her long-term mentor and partner Raymond 'Red' Reddington, played by James Spader. But will Liz be successful? Is this the end for Red? What happens next? Read on to find out when Episode 4 airs and what it entails.
"Fueled by his betrayal, Elizabeth Keen seeks vengeance on Reddington," in Episode 3. Makes sense, he has just murdered her estranged mother Katarina Rostova, who had just gotten back into Liz's life. Katarina, a manipulative, cold mercenary, and former KGB agent, knows how to spite Liz against those she is working with. Her primary target is Red as he is crucial to be taken out for Katarina's win. And for the most part, the sinister woman has accomplished it too.
As we still swirl in the mystery of what Katarina was hiding from Liz, and now why Red killed her, and what is he, in turn, hiding from the younger woman, the latter's defiance and vengeance soar with her now hatching plans that are far more dangerous than she would ever condone. Blinded by hate, revenge, and despair, Liz is a total fugitive in Episode 4 'Untilted' that returns in just a week's time next Friday, January 29, at its usual 8 pm times slot only on NBC. The official synopsis reveals "As Red and the Task Force search for Liz, she sets a new plan in motion that has catastrophic consequences."
What is Liz plotting? Does she want to blow up the FBI headquarters? Knowing that Red is most likely to die, is she relieving him of his duties sooner than he had expected to go? Only the next episode will tell.
