'The 100' is now down to just two episodes in its seventh season and the series as a whole. Season 7 has had a few standout episodes, but as we progressed, it got quite choppy. Over the last two episodes, two major characters were killed: Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) and Gabriel Santiago (Chuku Modu). In the end, both deaths seemed pointless, and the first one is potentially weighing heavily on Clarke Griffin (Eliza Taylor) who was forced to kill her best friend to save her daughter, Madi (Lola Flannery).

Nevertheless, the whole story comes down to these two final episodes and while fans may be wondering whether it might be worth it, 'The 100', in the past, has always managed to turn a season around in the finale episodes. For that reason, fans would want to keep going to hopefully get some form of closure.

This week's episode will pick up directly from where the previous episode ended: Madi, having decided that no one else was going to die for her protection, tags herself and is taken to Bardo. With Madi in their grasp, the Disciples and Bill Cadogan (John Pyper-Ferguson) sent in a bomb through the anomaly. Thanks to some quick thinking from Nathan Miller (Jarod Joseph), the bomb explodes in a closed room in the Second Dawn bunker. Unfortunately, the 200+ years old bunker (which has gone through three apocalypses) gives in, causing it to collapse as we see John Murphy (Richard Harmon) and Emori (Luisa d'Oliveira) caught in it.

The synopsis for the episode titled 'The Dying of the Light' simply states, "Clarke and Octavia mount a desperate rescue mission as the Disciples close in on what they want," a shot of which we see in the promo. It looks like Clarke and Octavia Blake (Marie Avgeropoulos) will be taking the nanochips left behind by Sheidheda (JR Bourne) to make their way to Bardo. The promo also shows a tearful Clarke saying, "I can't keep doing this, not again." Meanwhile, back on Earth, the remaining characters will have to deal with the aftermath of the bunker collapsing. We see a screaming Emori as Murphy (in tears) cauterizes a wound. The stakes are high as we go into the final two episodes and the likelihood of more main characters dying is high as well.

Before the final episode's titular 'Last War' — which at this point seems quite inevitable — Clarke and Octavia will have to go through another battle against the Disciples and Cadogan. The shots of the Disciples and the red lasers they are firing give us major Stormtrooper vibes and we cannot wait to see how it all goes down. There is also Jordan Green (Shannon Kook) who helpfully reminds us that "war is the failure of everything". Jordan had earlier interpreted that the last war was not a war at all, but a test. Given the way the series is going, is humanity even worthy of being saved? Only time will tell.

'The 100' airs on The CW on Wednesday nights at 8/7c.
