'That’s her humor': Jon Gries reveals why Aubrey Plaza looked annoyed on-stage at SAG Awards 2023
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Aubrey Plaza looked extremely annoyed and angry on the SAG Awards 2023 stage as White Lotus' cast won the Award for Best Ensemble in a Drama Series. Jon Gries who was on the stage along with her has now revealed the reason behind her reaction.
The actor who portrayed the role of Tanya McQuoid in 'White Lotus' claimed that she was blocked by 15 people in front of her and then he told her to “look to the front.” He then told her, “You might want to fix that first,” referring to the underboob revealing which could have led to a major wardrobe malfunction, as per Page Six.

“I think what she was intimating is why would that be a problem if my nipple is showing. That’s her humor — She has that dry, dead-pan wit; that’s her biting wit," said the actor. Gries also texted Plaza if she is upset after the clip went viral. “You weren’t really upset?” he texted to which she replied, “No! Not at all!." It seems that the 38-year-old actress apparently told him that he had “saved” her from a wardrobe malfunction.

As the 'White Lotus' crew won the award, Meghann Fahy, Theo James, Will Sharpe, and Jon Gries stood next to Aubrey. Gries went on to point out about her underboob popping out later which the actress could be seen adjusting her dress before turning back to F Murray Abraham, who was giving the acceptance speech. Abraham stated, "A prayer out to the earthquake victims of Syria and Turkey and a prayer for peace in Ukraine and Russia, Union forever!." Plaza appeared to mouth, "Jesus Christ." Back then, it was unclear if her reaction was to Abraham’s speech or to Gries pointing out her underboob.

Plaza also had another funny moment on the award night as she came along with Jenna Ortega to present an award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a television movie or limited series. Plaza was seen saying, "I don't know why they paired us up together." To which, Ortega said, "Yeah, I know, we have nothing in common."Later, Plaza claimed, "We should find the people who did this," and the duo went on to " curse their families, and watch as misfortune follows their bloodline for the next seven generations." Plaza then said, "OK, I see it now," as per USA Today.
