'Tehran' Episode 4 Preview: Will Tamar's new romance endanger her perilous mission further in her hometown?
Tension and stress in 'Tehran' continues to unfold. The end of Episode 3 was nerve-wracking as Massoud gets caught due to Faraz's (Shaun Toub) sharp investigation. This brings up the question, what if he caves in under the pressure of interrogation and reveals the truth about Tamar's real mission in Tehran? As we've already seen, Faraz doesn't mince words and is keen on getting to the bottom of this baffling mystery of Tamar. And Massouds's capture brings several problems for Tamar as Faraz could use him to get to her as well.
The last we saw of Tamar, she was surrounded by student protesters, who believe that she is one of the liberals attacking their way of life. However, unknown to them, Tamar had nothing to do with the protest. Hopefully, only her ally "Sick-boy" can help her out of this situation. It would also be interesting to see what happens to Tamar and the family she had found. Her aunt Aarezoo had given her shelter, not knowing about her connection to Mossad. It's only a matter of time before Faraz traces her steps and ends up at Aarezoo's place, asking questions.
The synopsus for Episode 4 reads, "When she finds a commune of young regime opponents, Tamar takes refuge with them and becomes close with Milad."
'Tehran' is a political thriller that focuses on Tamar, played by Niv Sultan, who is sent on a dangerous mission to her hometown Tehran. After switching identities with a woman named Zhila, she was tasked with disabling an Iranian nuclear reactor so that the Israeli military could carry out an airstrike. However, things took a turn for the worse when Zhila's boss, mistaking Tamar to be Zhila, attempted to rape her. In the scuffle, Tamar accidentally killed him and from then on, she's on the run from counter-surveillance agent Faraz Kamali, who is racing against time to track her down. At the surface, the show is an espionage drama, but at it's heart, it's about rediscovering one's roots in a torn and distraught world filled with tensions. 'Tehran' airs on Apple TV+.
