'Lies, lies, lies': Teen Mom OG Farrah Abraham blasts MTV, says show's ratings tanked after her exit
In a new video posted for her 254K followers on TikTok, former 'Teen Mom OG' star Farrah Abraham called out MTV for "wrongfully" firing her. Her daughter Sophia was also in the video posted on April 29, where they tried to recreate the moment when the show's executive producer Morgan J Freeman sat her down and confronted her on camera in 2018.
They lip-synced the words from the scene with Farrah playing herself and Sophia taking on Freeman’s role but Farrah had a few snappy comments that appeared on the screen.
"Wrongfully fired by a male on Teen Mom… This is how (women) are wrongfully fired every day." These words appeared at the beginning of the video. The part where the producer said she has "very little empathy or compassion for other people", she added, "Lies, lies, lies". She also accused him of "cutting a woman (down) with (his) own negative opinions". She continued, "I’m the only one out of 10 (stars) who overcame the struggles of teen pregnancy."
Farrak also shared the video on her Instagram where she has 2M followers with the caption: "Nothing like a great #teenmom cameo on TikTok maybe this is why the ratings tanked even with everyone stuck at home, sports canceled & cbs can’t save it... for all wrongfully fired who are over achievers this is a sign others can’t grow with you & respect you. Cheers moms thank you, Next."
This isn’t the first time Farrah has thrown shade at the TV series and the network. In October 2017, she lashed at MTV after claiming she was fired from the show. "Sad such a phenomenal show will no longer have its biggest talent on the show because of women-hating, sex-shaming, hate crimes, selfish, Weinstein company power trip behaviors against a professional hard working, honest mother," she told fans in a lengthy Facebook post.
A day later, she took to Instagram to claim that production has not fired her. Confirming she wasn’t leaving the show, she called the whole stunt a "hate crime", calling Freeman "unprofessional, fake, women hater, press hungry, sex shaming" among a lot of other things. "Viacom Legal confirms I have not been fired, I have not breached my contract," she said.
By February 2018, she confirmed that she was over the franchise. “I stand up for what is right so we all can be treated better and have a better world. If you want to continue this bad cycle, then stay away from me and my family. Start treating people better.… Stop impacting generations with the hateful culture. It’s wrong and will always be wrong."
However, the series in a statement to PEOPLE, hinted that it was Farrah's decision to quit. "We respect Farrah’s decision to pursue other endeavors. We wish her the best... Regarding her suit, the claims are without merit."
