'Teen Mom 2' star Jenelle Evans and husband David Eason split, says she’s filed for divorce: ‘Kids and I have moved away’

"The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end, I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I have filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who's asked how I am. Me and my kids are doing great," Evans wrote

'Teen Mom 2' star Jenelle Evans and her husband David Eason have been in the news over the past few months for many reasons including the couple losing custody of their children after Eason shot and killed their family dog. Now, Evans has announced she has split from Eason and said she and her kids have moved away.

In a long post on Instagram, Evans wrote, "I’ve mostly kept off social media the past few days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions. I’ve lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn’t been pretty but it’s been my life. Like anyone else, I want what’s best for my kids and I want to be happy. With the time I took away from Teen Mom I’ve started looking at my life differently and I know I need to make changes. I’m starting now."

In the post, Evans did not give a particular reason for her sudden decision to move away or split from her husband. She did, however, explain she now understands what is best for her and children.

She wrote, "The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I have filed papers to start that process. I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and my kids are doing great. We need some time to be together. But you’ll hear from us again soon."

In May, Evans and Eason lost custody of their children temporarily when Eason shot their family dog Nugget for biting their 2-year-old daughter Ensley in the face. Evans regained custody only after two months at which time she said, "I am ecstatic to regain custody of my kids back."

According to a report in People, she was quoted as saying, "Throughout this long process and final decision, I am excited to be moving forward and continuing to show America I’m a good parent.”

Evans' decision to split from Eason comes as a shock because while speaking about their relationship last month to People, she had said their relationship is "stronger than ever." She added, "I mean, especially because of the [child protective services] thing that happened. We had to be so strong during that. It was so hard to just hear accusations as a parent that aren’t true."
