Taylor Swift is BIGGEST celebrity polluter, while pilloried Kylie Jenner is not even in the Top 10!
After Kylie Jenner faced criticism for traveling privately in the midst of the climate crisis, celebrities using private aircraft for frequent travels have become a hot topic recently. However, a recent study suggests that Taylor Swift is the biggest polluter among all celebrities. In order to identify the celebrities who emit the most CO2, the sustainability marketing agency Yard examined over 1,500 celebrity flights using open information obtained from the Celebrity Jets Twitter account. Each star's total number of flights, average flight duration, distance traveled, and total CO2 emissions since the start of the year were all recorded by the study.
Unexpectedly, the singer of 'Blank Space' ranks first this year with 8,293.54 tonnes of flying emissions. According to Yard, that is 1,184.8 times greater than the annual emissions of an average human. Since January, Swift has flown 170 times in her own plane, with each trip lasting an average of just 80 minutes. Her shortest flight, according to the airline, was a 36-minute one from Missouri to Nashville. The founder of Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner, who last week drew flak for posting a picture of her two private jets, didn't even rank among the top ten celebrities with the biggest carbon emissions. With 4268.5 tonnes of carbon emissions, her sister Kim Kardashian came seventh and her partner Travis Scott was ranked 10th.

'Climate criminal': Kylie Jenner CALLED OUT for boasting about private jets
Earlier, Kylie Jenner posted a black-and-white Instagram snap of herself and Scott cuddling in front of their two private jets on July 15 with the caption, “you wanna take mine or yours?” Fans immediately criticized Jenner for the obnoxious remark, and others brought out the possible environmental impact of her use of a private jet. Jenner was barely in the air for three minutes, according to the flight path, Celebrity Jets later reported on Twitter.

Similar to Jenner's post, Taylor Swift's position as the celebrity with the most carbon emissions sparked an immediate response on social media. One person wrote, “So apparently Taylor Swift has racked up the most CO2 emissions of any celebrity by using her private jet, and has taken 170 trips this year ALONE. Girl, you’re making it harder and harder for me to defend you.” “We know it’s not just her but she plays a BIG part in it and that should not go unchecked. It’s her jet and they’re flying it with her permission. I like Taylor too but she’s just a regular person who needs to be held accountable for her actions,” another added.

girl, you’re making it harder and harder for me to defend you.
One private jet flight does as much waste as a normal person in one year. The problem is not just Taylor swift is that many celebrities use private jets like they’re cars. They can literally drive to some of these places

Never cared about Taylor Swift but it’s funny that the defense for her is that she regularly leases her jet out to other people. That’s exactly what I would do if I was trying to maximize both emissions and my personal profit.

According to Yard, celebrities have used private jets on average to release 3376.64 tonnes of CO2 since the year 2022, which is 482.37 times greater than the annual emissions of the typical individual. Floyd Mayweather, Jay-Z, Alex Rodriguez, Blake Shelton, Steven Spielberg, and Oprah Winfrey were also named on the list of private jet offenders.
