'New chance in life': Tammy Slaton makes bombshell revelation after dramatic weight loss surgery
DIXON, KENTUCKY: In the last episode of '1000-lb Sisters,' Tammy Slaton was hospitalized for weight loss surgery. Tammy's surgery was a success, as the star has been sharing pictures of herself after losing weight on social media for some time. To the relief of her sister Amy Slaton, the '1000- lb Sisters' star left the operating room safe and sound, but admitted that her recovery process is far from over.
Tammy's new lease on life has left her wondering where to go from here, and it sounds like starting a family is in the cards. Although that may not be what Chris Combs and Amy had in mind for Tammy, it looks like shes ready to move forward in her life after her big milestone.

The TLC star is not done achieving her goals yet, because after her weight loss success, she has a new goal in mind. While people like her sister Amy and brother Chris have expressed their expectations for Tammy in the future, the recently married star has her own ideas. "I've missed so much and I'm excited to have a new chance in life," she said to the cameras. Tammy even indicated to her family, "Who knows, I could have a kid," Given that Tammy had just undergone weight loss surgery, her family was understandably a little concerned about this admission and asked her about her plans. Tammy only assured them that it could happen, but not for sure.
Although it wasn't just her weight loss that made her think about having children, Tammy revealed that it' was her sister who inspired her. She said in the episode, " “I’ve been saying, I don’t want kids, I don’t want kids. I don’t know, just something changed. I’ve been seeing Amy with Gage and Glenn. So, I’ve been thinking about it." Tammy further added, “Nothing’s written in stone. I don’t even know if I can have kids. But, who knows.”

Tammy has struggled with weight loss over the course of several seasons of '1000-lb Sisters,' but the TLC star lost a significant amount of weight after a terrible medical emergency. In the Season 3 finale, Chris, Tammy's brother, revealed that she was hospitalized for respiratory problems after going to a food addiction rehab because she was having trouble breathing. The reality star was placed in an induced coma andput on a ventilator. Her encounter with a situation in which she was close to death made Tammy more aware of the fragility of life and the need to change something to avoid such health problems.
After a few days in the hospital, she was able to return to the rehab facility. At this point, Tammy began to really focus on her goal and lost 100 pounds in 30 days. She continued on this path, keeping her followers updated on her progress and even sharing her workout routine. In a February 2023 episode of the reality series, Tammy reached an important milestone when she reached her goal weight to be eligible for weight loss surgery. She was amazed when she realized that she weighed only 534.7 pounds, while she would have needed 550 pounds. And now the star has had successful surgery and is ready to move forward in her life.
