Tambra Cherie is all set to appear on OWN's latest show, 'Belle Collective'. The show features the story of five Mississippi Black female entrepreneurs who works together to redevelop a struggling mid-20th century historic district.

Who is Tambra Cherie?

Cherie, 41, is a newly single on-air radio personality. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from Jackson State University in 2001 and got her MBA from JSU in 2003. Her program has covered past events such as the 2004 JSU vs Alcorn State basketball game, the Cash Money Millionaires Celebrity Event, the Essence Festival in New Orleans and the 2004 Jackson Music Awards. Her initial interest in becoming involved in television was sparked by Stephen Hill, vice president of music programming for BET. "Television was something I wanted to do. We were talking through e-mail. He encouraged me to pursue a career in television, and I decided to do it," she explains.'

In an interview with Voyage ATL, she said in the beginning of her career, she began "to interview celebrities for a local entertainment television program, where we covered various concerts, events, festivals, and parties throughout the South. I remember covering the Vibe Musicfest in Atlanta. That was also my first time going to Essence Music Festival and interviewing artists such a Lil Wayne, Birdman, and even Kimora Lee Simmons. I was doing what I loved to do. Then, I had an opportunity to come to Atlanta, and for months I stayed interviewing artists, building my portfolio and interviewed for intern at Hot 107.9. Upon getting that internship, I received a call from another radio station to come on board doing entertainment news as their entertainment news reporter. I jumped at that opportunity. I love radio. A lot happened between then and now! Fast forward, I am now the full-time Midday radio personality and host for 97.7 The Beat of the Capital. I am also a new author, entrepreneur, and interactive media talent."

Cherie has been nominated in Best of Jackson 2020 for Best Radio Personality. Likewise, she was also nominated as the radio personality of the year 2019 in the Mississippi hip-hop culture awards. Tambra has covered and supported the events of President Joe Biden. She has produced and hosted the show 'Admission Granted'. During the production, she took the charge of lining up guests and venues each week. One reason why she suspects people enjoy the show so much is that it "lets local people see themselves on television."

While speaking to Voyage ATL, she said, "I am my own brand. I had to learn that in the industry. You represent you. You are a walking billboard. I am full-time radio personality and host, Middays 10am-2pm on 97.7 The Beat of the Capital. I am also an event and television host, entertainment news reporter, author, entrepreneur, and overall interactive media talent. I invested in an online boutique as co-owner, called 5th and Sole, www.5thandsole.com. I also love fashion. I love helping people, which is one of the reasons for my latest book, Surrounded By Sin, Grounded By Love: 8 Simple Keys to Becoming a Better You!"
