NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: JoJo Siwa is promoting her latest single in style! The 20-year-old emerging pop sensation rocked a bespoke ensemble at Lifetime's 'Dance Moms: The Reunion' premiere in New York City on Thursday, April 25, and fans are not happy about it.

At the event, JoJo struck poses while sporting a sleeveless white T-shirt with the bold message "Karma's a Bitch" emblazoned on the back. This statement resonates with the lyrics of her latest hit song, "Karma."

'SYTYCD' judge JoJo Siwa does '180° turn' as ‘Bad Girl’ rocker persona in ‘Karma’ video

The old JoJo cannot answer the phone right now. The 20-year-old singer dropped her new dance-pop single "Karma" on April 5, along with a lively music video for the upbeat track, marking a significant departure from the kid-friendly role she's played since rising to fame on 'Dance Moms' in 2015.

The video features JoJo getting up close and personal with a troupe of female dancers, executing seductive choreography in a variety of bejeweled outfits in numerous rich, exotic locations. At one point, she rises from the ocean looking like a flashy sea monster, slinking onto the coastline of a little island to engage in a passionate makeout session with a red leotard-wearing love interest.

"Karma" is described as a "180° turn" from her previous work and represents JoJo's first release as part of a comprehensive relaunch she's been teasing on social media over the past several weeks. Gone are the days of hair bows and tunes like "Boomerang" or "Every Girl's a Super Girl."

'SYTYCD' judge JoJo Siwa defends Abby Lee Miller's past behavior to co-stars

The 'Dance Moms' girls are back for a reunion special, and JoJo is opening up about their troubled former coach, Abby Lee Miller. In a preview of the upcoming 'Dance Moms: The Reunion' special for Lifetime, JoJo is joined by several of her former co-stars, including Kalani, Kendall, Chloé, Paige, and Brooke, and the 'Dancing With the Stars' alum candidly discusses Abby's polarizing teaching practices.

"This is going to be a little controversial to say, I think," JoJo said with a smirk, "but, to me, Abby was always right." Abby frequently clashed with the young dancers, and especially with their moms, over her aggressive and demanding approach toward her students.

It resulted in several feuds between Abby and the other stars of the program, but JoJo claims that, despite everything, it eventually proved to be a valuable experience for her.

"If I was a mess and a beat off, she wasn't just yelling at me because she wanted to yell at me. I actually was a mess, and I was a beat off," JoJo stated, claiming that Abby wasn't bossy or cruel merely to be vengeful.

"One thing that I've learned really working, like, insane, in Hollywood is that that's normal," she says. "And it's scary that that's normal, but that taught me how to survive in the industry. It truly is so tough."

Did 'SYTYCD' judge JoJo Siwa steal her new song 'Karma' from Miley Cyrus?

JoJo is setting the record straight. The 'Dance Moms' star denied that she copied her current hit "Karma" from Miley Cyrus and Brit Smith, both of whom were rumored to have recorded early versions of the music in the early 2010s.  "I did not steal anything," JoJo told TMZ on Friday, April 12. "There's no such thing as stealing."

The 20-year-old went on to say that the confusion may have stemmed from the track's producers, Rock Mafia, who composed the song years ago and also wrote a few songs for Disney alums, including Miley's "Can't Be Tamed" and Aly & AJ's "Potential Breakup Song."

"What happens is people write songs, and then, they don't do anything with them," JoJo added. "Then, a few years later, it makes sense for another artist."

The 'SYTYCD' judge continued, pointing out that it was an "old song," saying, "I was pitched it. I loved it, was obsessed with it, so I grasped onto it. That's a very normal thing."

And how old is the track? JoJo didn't worry if the song felt antiquated. She released "Karma" on April 5 as part of her new, more mature period. "I knew that it was a special song," she expressed. "I knew that it fit. I knew that it was exactly the vision that I wanted to create for the world."
