Former Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller shares post-op photos of her scars after a second emergency procedure
Abby Lee Miller - the former "Dance Moms" stars - is taking the whole extra step to let her fans and followers on social media, in on the details of her medical journey. As per her latest updates, it has been revealed that Miller is on the road to recovery after having undergone a second "emergency surgery" on her back.
The graphic image of her post-op scar on her back was shared by Miller herself on Saturday and shows the area complete with stitches. She also shared a message in her caption, speaking about optimism, while also simultaneously lamenting her slow progress being felt in terms of her recovery process.
“After the 2nd surgery, My back is finally on the mend. I just wish the top section & bottom would hurry along too!” she wrote, captioning the image. “I had 52 staples perfectly aligned and now a bunch of crazy stitches are holding my neck & lumbar region together!”
The recovery photo comes shortly after the 51-year-old star shared another similar image on Instagram from inside the hospital where she underwent the surgery. On the post, she revealed to her fans that doctors treating her thought it was a good idea of her to undergo the second emergency surgery, post getting diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma in April.
"After another 2 hour MRI this morning, the pros thought I needed one more quick little emergency surgery!" wrote Miller on the caption of a picture of her arm, during what seemed like she was resting in a hospital bed, complete with admission bracelets and an IV port. "Ugh! I’m in recovery now and texting so everything must be ok, just hiccups in my plans! I’m on a tight schedule; shooting two projects and I need to get out of here and on with my life!!! Please keep me in your prayers. I’m grateful for all the well wishes!”
In another positive post about her diagnosis, Miller discussed the prospect of hair loss as part of her treatment. The photo - posted earlier this week - was captioned with Miler saying goodbye to her mane amid her battle with the non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“HAIR TODAY, GONE TOMORROW…” she wrote as the photo caption, sporting a shocked expression with her long brown hair surrounding her face.
Before these posts, Miller - who has also been recently released from prison - had posted a different hospital selfie, sharing with her fans the diagnosis.
"So much gratitude and love for those who listened, those who looked deeper and those who leapt into action," Miller had written on the post. "So much more I wish I could say......about how quickly your life can change at the hands of others," she had added, thanking her fans for their prayers.
Despite sometimes putting on a brave face for her fans, Abby reportedly also has episodes where she has been crying and thinking there is not much hope. Sources close to her have been quoted as saying that she sometimes she is devastated to think of whatever has befallen her post her release from prison.
