Super Junior D&E 'Countdown': Release Date, tracklist, and more about Korean album

The subgroup of Super Junior comprising of members - Donghae and Eunhyuk - called Super Junior D&E has been garnering a lot of attention over the last few months due to the new releases from the two members of the group. Ahead of the release of the album, both Eunhyuk and Donghae came out with solo tracks to warm up the attention of fans towards their first Korean full-length album.

The highly-anticipated comeback was opened with Donghae, who first released his two digital singles, on October 13. The first of the two was titled ‘California Love’ that Donghae released in collaboration with fellow SM Entertainment labelmate, Jeno from NCT while the second single was titled, ‘Blue Moon’ featuring Miyeon, a former member of (G)I-DLE. Following the release from Donghae, Eunhyuk came out with his digital singles titled ‘be’ and ‘Red Muhly’ that were both released on October 20.

The studio album is a ten-track album that marks the group’s first full-length South Korea release in history. The boys have been busy promoting the album, ‘Countdown’ over the last few weeks appearing on many music shows. On October 25, Donghae and Eunhyuk performed the song, ‘Beautiful Liar’ on Eunhyuk’s personal YouTube channel which has garnered a lot of attention from fans. The title track from the album, ‘Zero’ (stylized as ZERO) will be released in an all-English version that has been anticipated highly by fans and non-fans alike. The performance video has already crossed 130k views on YouTube, at the time of writing, showing a lot of potential for the upcoming album.

Concept

The labels announced that the album will serve as a mysterious concept for the album. The year 2021 marks the tenth anniversary of their sub-unit debut. In the concept images that were released ahead of the album release, both members of the group were captured in front of a background that resembled flowing water. In the other set of images, both of them stood in front of white curtains and shadows of some birds could be seen. While talking about the teaser photos, SM Entertainment explains that Donghae’s space of “pouring light and flowing water” comes together with Eunhyuk’s space of “pouring sunset and flowing wind.”

Teaser

Days ahead of the release of their album, Super Junior D&E released the second teaser for their title track, ‘Zero’ on October 29 where Donghae and Eunhyuk appear as racers. The duo is seen sitting inside their racecars as they drive away from the camera in the teaser. The song is a peppy dance song that is backed with stellar choreography featuring the two members and supported by backup dancers. In the teaser, the duo flaunts their neon orange jackets.
