Spoilers for 'Suburra: Blood on Rome' Season 3

Right at the beginning of Season 3, after taking down the infamous and all-powerful Samurai (Francesco Acquaroli), Aureliano Adami (Alessandro Borghi) and Alberto 'Spadino' Anacleti (Giacomo Ferrara) pay newly elected mayor of Rome Amadeo Cinaglia (Filippo Nigro) a visit. They had used his family as bait to force him to deliver Samurai to them, but clearly, shooting the older man in the head wasn't enough of a hint for Cinaglia. Thinking he needs a harder lesson, they show up at Cinaglia's home and torture him in an overly heated sauna to leave a message. And although Cinaglia looks like he has been thoroughly ingrained who he's dealing with, he sticks to his true nature and joins hands with an enemy so vicious to the duo that it brings about their downfall.

In the wake of Samurai's death, Rome is in shambles as to who the new overlord will be. Everybody wants their hand at power, but nobody seems fitting enough or daring enough to take down overlords the way Aureliano and Spadino have. So Cinaglia, seeing this as a perfect opportunity to resume some powerful connections, decides to meet up with none other than Manfredi Anacleti (Adamo Dionisi) in secret.

The recently returned Anacleti family head wants to resume and reclaim his position as the king of the family. While he lay recovering in the hospital after a fire caused by Aureliano, his brother Spadino decided to join hands with the enemy in their pursuit to take over Rome's underworld. But Manfredi can't let that happen; the lines separating the Ostia Adamis and the Sinti Ancletis are too bloody, bold, and raw for Manfredi to overlook them. In his eyes, what Spadino has done is a disgrace to his family, not just because the Adamis are rivals, but because of the harm Aureliano has caused him. So when Cinaglia approaches him with the prospect of taking down the duo, it's a treat for Manfredi.

The two meet up secretly under a rail bridge in the outskirts of town and talk business involving the legacy Samurai has left behind, and the absolute disgrace according to them that Aureliano and Spadino were turning this game into. In their eyes, the other two men are but kids treating the business like a game, and they cannot let that happen. With vengeance rife in their sentiments, the two start meeting up to bring our anti-heroes down.

'Suburra: Blood on Rome' Season 3 is now available for streaming only on Netflix.
