'Stranded with no food, water': Elizabeth Hurley slams British Airways but Internet calls star 'entitled'
ANTIGUA, ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA: Actress Elizabeth Hurley, resorted to social media on Monday, December 19, to criticize British Airways after her flight from Antigua was delayed for more than 20 hours. The 'Gossip Girl' actress posted a tweet to express her annoyance and describe her experience, which said, "Stranded at Antigua airport with no food or water, taxis or hotels offered yet. Plane delayed 20 hours."
In a follow-up tweet, she wrote, "Still stranded- no food, water, or hotel. Pretty dodgy service.” The star then shared in her third tweet, "Still nothing from @british_airways. Extraordinary service! Finally, managed to find a taxi ourselves to escape the airport after more than 12 hours with no food or water #avoidflying."

As expected, several users on Twitter came out and reacted to her tweets, with most of them mocking the actress. One user wrote on Twitter, “I’m pretty sure there is a shop you can buy a bottle of water from, or from the bar in the lounge you were sat in. Seriously.” “Bit difficult to feel sympathy Liz - you're in Antigua !! Still, bad luck, hope BA sort it out for you soon and you get home for Christmas,” another added. Someone commented, “Entitled!! Get your own food and water. Why is the airline responsible for your food? We all have delays when flying.” “I hope you get home soon and merry Christmas,” tweeted a more sympathetic fan.
Meanwhile, the airline tweeted in response to Elizabeth's second tweet, "We’re experiencing delays to some of our flights due to a technical issue with our flight planning. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey, we’re urgently investigating this so that you travel as soon as possible."

According to Fox News, Elizabeth was one of several travelers who were left stuck at airports on Monday, December 19, owing to a technical issue that caused widespread flight delays for British Airways throughout the Americas and the Caribbean. The problem was finally resolved on Tuesday, December 20, and after the issue was fixed, the airline said in a statement, "Our teams have now resolved a temporary issue that affected some of our long-haul flight planning systems overnight, which resulted in delays to our schedule."
