MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Donald Trump may become the first former president to face criminal charges after a grand jury is set to indict him in New York in the wake of Stormy Daniels' bombshell testimony. The adult actress, 44, who is making headlines surrounding her relationship with Trump, calls him "Tiny," amid the promotion of her new X-rated film. The movie called 'Lawless' is a collaboration with her new husband, porn star Barrett Blade.

Last week, Daniels spoke to Manhattan federal prosecutors via Zoom and shared details about her 2006 meeting with Trump. She claims to have met Trump at a celebrity golf course and slept with him when he was newly married to former First Lady Melania Trump. He offered her $130,000 and was paid ten years later ahead of his 2016 presidential election. The 44-year-old said the money was paid by Trump's attorney Michael Cohen in exchange for her silence over their alleged dalliance. However, Trump denies the allegations of sleeping with her and says he has no knowledge of the payment.

'Witch hunt!'

Nevertheless, it is unclear why the jury is considering indicting him but it is understood to be related to his campaign finance rules, to signify whether the former president broke any laws. However, Manhattan DA's probe is being widely criticized by many Republicans who have deemed it a "witch hunt." Ron DeSantis, who is in the running for the 2024 Presidency, and considered to be Trump's main opponent, has also slammed Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's probe and his decision to pursue charges.

"He, like other Soros-funded prosecutors, they weaponize their office to impose a political agenda on society at the expense of the rule of law and public safety," reported Daily Mail. "He has downgraded over 50 percent of the felonies to misdemeanors. He says he doesn't want to even have jail time for the vast, vast majority of crimes. What I can speak to, is that if you have a prosecutor who is ignoring crimes happening every single day in his jurisdiction, and he chooses to go back many, many years ago, to try to use something about porn star hush money payments. You know, that's an example of pursuing a political agenda and weaponizing the office," he said.

'There was no crime, period'

Trump also wrote on Truth Social, "Even Democrats don’t like what’s going on with the Manhattan DA. This is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt of all time! There was no 'misdemeanor' here either. There was no crime, period. All other of the many Democrat law enforcement officers that looked at it, took a pass." He fumed, "So did Cy Vance, and so did Bragg. But then, much latter, he changed his mind. Gee, I wonder why? Prosecutorial Misconduct and Interference with an Election. Investigate the Investigators!"
