MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA: It looks like we will see more of Donald Trump in the coming times as he could be making a massive comeback on social media. Earlier, Twitter CEO Elon Musk decided to bring back Trump's account. However, the latter wasn't interested saying his own platform Truth Social was doing fairly well. Now, Facebook's parent company Meta which "indefinitely suspended then-US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts following his praise for people engaged in violence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021" is ready to welcome back the 2024 presidential candidate.

Donald Trump was banned from the platform for allegedly promoting violence. The company's president of global affairs Nick Gregg announced the development in a blog post. Gregg wrote, "As a general rule, we don't want to get in the way of open, public and democratic debate on Meta's platforms – especially in the context of elections in democratic societies like the United States. The public should be able to hear what their politicians are saying – the good, the bad and the ugly – so that they can make informed choices at the ballot box." Speaking of the 45th US President, it stated that two years ago, "We indefinitely suspended then-US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts following his praise for people engaged in violence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021."

The post reads, "The suspension was an extraordinary decision taken in extraordinary circumstances. The normal state of affairs is that the public should be able to hear from a former President of the United States, and a declared candidate for that office again, on our platforms." "As such, we will be reinstating Mr. Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the coming weeks. However, we are doing so with new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses."

'Trump is still lying on Twitter since he was let back on'

The Internet, however, is divided as some people are happy that Trump could potentially make a comeback while some are opposing the idea of seeing him on these platforms.

One user said, "Should’ve never been banned in the first place" Another user slammed Meta for blocking Trump in the first place and wrote, "Wait I thought this would end the world. Or is it that Facebook and Instagram are realizing that Republicans are actually better for their economy" One more user said, "I don’t want Trump as President but the actions by Social media companies against Trump to silence speech should really be treated criminally." Another person wrote, "This can never be allowed to happen ever again- not to anyone and especially the President if the United States. It is criminal to silence a President no matter who they are."

Now comes the second half that is not happy with the news. One user said, "Donald Trump has been indicted for no crimes. Donald Trump has been reinstated to Twitter and Facebook. Donald Trump is running for president again. It's almost as if a violent, Trump-incited insurrection never happened. Or happened, and was then forgotten." Another user says, "Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram Accounts Reinstated today. Don't be celebrating. The only reason Meta did this is to keep you quiet about them allowing neo-nazi terrorists groups back on Facebook! This happened less than a week ago. #BreakingNews" One more user wrote, "Facebook has decided to reinstate Donald Trump’s account. I’m not on Facebook because no one should be on Facebook." Another user tweeted, "His judgment and ego are so bad he’ll probably refuse to return anywhere. And Just another reason he won’t be the candidate in 2024."

One user wrote, “Oh goody! He can start confessing to crimes again!” Another person tweeted, “Lol. I’m glad they are letting him back.  He will only screw it up for himself again.  The man has zero self control.” One user said, "He's still lying" while another pointed out, "Trump is still lying on Twitter since he was let back on. Why does FB think it will be any different?"
