‘Station 19’ Season 4 Episode 3: What's Shangela doing on ABC's firefighter drama along with other drag queens?

The official handle posted a little snippet and fans can't wait to catch a glimpse of the new twist

Along with relationship woes and family drama, ‘Station 19’ manages to spring surprises and shocks with its storylines. If last week, a tiger was on the loose, this time around drag queens will take the stage. Wondering what they are doing on the firefighter drama?

Titled ‘We Are Family’, the summary of the upcoming episode reads: "The future of Sullivan’s career hangs in the balance as his disciplinary hearing gets underway, and Ben Warren (Jason George), Dr Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr), Emmett Dixon (Lachlan Buchanan) and former Fire Chief Dixon (Peat Healy) are called to testify. Meanwhile, the crew investigates an electrical fire at a neglected apartment building that serves as the home and performance space for some of Seattle’s most prominent drag queens."

Going by the new photos, it seems the drag queens will be in distress mode. Who all will make an appearance on the show? If you're a fan of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, you'd know Shangela Pierce. After Drag Race, she has appeared in several TV shows, including 'Community' (2011), '2 Broke Girls' (2012), 'Glee' (2012), 'The X-Files' (2016), and the musical drama film 'A Star is Born' (2018). In fact, she was the first drag queen to walk the Oscars red carpet in drag.

While Shangela will play Ruby Red Slippers, the episode also features Sherry Vine as Rainbow Trout, Roxy Wood as Izzy Packing and Camden Garcia as Elizabeth Gaylor. In the episode, catch a glimpse of them shaking a leg to a sizzling lip-sync performance to Lizzo's 'Juice'. 

Talking about the appearance, Shangela posted on Instagram: "There are about to be some HOSE in the @station19 house! EXCITED to be guest starring tomorrow night on ABC’s hot firehouse drama! I’ll be taking over their IG tomorrow and posting all kinds of behind the scenes pics and more. Directed by the amazing @pkcbarclay! Set those DVRs and tune in."

The official handle posted a little snippet and fans can't wait to catch a glimpse of the new twist. "HOLY MY FAVORITE EPISODE OF ALL TIME. The devil works hard, but not as hard as @itsSHANGELA," one wrote and another said, "Yaaas, @itsSHANGELA getting the gigs!"

The crossover episode of ‘Station 19’ Season 4 and ‘Grey's Anatomy’ Season 17 premiered on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Written by Zaiver Sinnett and directed by Paris Barclay, the third episode ‘We Are Family’ will air after a one-week break on Thursday, December 3, from 8 pm ET to 9 pm ET on ABC. Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.
