‘Station 19’ Season 4 Episode 2 ‘Wild World’: Can Andy accept her mom after she abandoned her for 20 years?
How is Andy Herrera's (Jaina Lee Ortiz) mother Elena Herrera (Patricia De Leon) alive? Why did she abandon her and hide for 20 years? In the two-hour crossover with ‘Grey's Anatomy’ Season 17, we find out how Andy has a major panic attack after finding out her mother was alive.
Andy asks her mother why she never got to know she hadn't died for 20 long years. Andy questioned her father Pruitt Herrera (Miguel Sandoval) for hiding the truth all the years but after finding out the truth, she was furious and devastated with her mother who left after giving birth to her. When her mother says she is ashamed, Andy retorts back, "It is your biggest shame, not your biggest regret." After hearing her out, she walks away from her mother.
Will Andy ever accept her after what she did? Fans feel sad about how Andy has been dealing with so much stuff since forever. "This convo with Andy and her mom is heartbreaking and all this after losing Ryan, her papi, and separating from Sullivan. Seriously @Station19. I need y'all to cut Andy a break!" one said and another posted, "You thought telling Andy@JainaLeeOrtiz that story would work in your favor? That made it worse, her father begs your 3yrs later and you didn't even consider going back to your daughter smh #Station19 #GreysxStation19."
A third felt, "Andy's mom didn't have to abandon her to be a firefighter. That's a bullshit excuse. #station19." And a fourth added, "I feel like Andy is justified in how she feels. I really think her parents should’ve found a better solution. Instead they just isolated and emotionally damaged that poor girl smh #Station19 #GreysAnatomy."

When Andy's husband Robert Sullivan (Boris Kodjoe) asks her if she's okay, she tells him, "I guess knowing the truth is better than wondering." Towards the end, the couple have a heartfelt conversation.
Moving forward, what will happen in Andy's life and how will she handle all the turmoil? Titled ‘Wild World’, the summary reads: "Andy takes the day off to continue to sort out her family life; Maya and Carina do their best to maintain their relationship while unable to physically see each other due to Covid-19 restrictions and Sullivan strives to work on his sobriety. Meanwhile, the team responds to a call involving a wild animal."
