Marvel and Sony finally dropped the much-awaited second trailer for 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' on November 16, after a fan event in Los Angeles. The thrilling video has already racked up over three million views in a matter of hours, and millions of likes and shares across social media. Fans get their first look at all the major villains in the film, from the Green Goblin to Sandman, and the Lizard to Electro. However, once again Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were suspiciously absent.

Ever since the film began production, there have been strong rumors that the two would reprise their roles as Spider-Man, along with other fan favorites like Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. A large number of leaks in the months since have proven some of those rumors right, such as the return of Benedict Cumberbatch, Alfred Molina, and William Defoe. But, despite the constant leaks of Maguire and Garfield's presence, Sony and Marvel have kept them well-out of the marketing.

Neither trailer nor poster shows off the two past Peter Parker actors, but that hasn't stopped fans from carefully analyzing every second of footage. And once again, it seems like someone at the studio screwed up. The second trailer for 'No Way Home' gives us numerous leaks of Maguire and Garfield, that several eagle-eyed fans have spotted. If you haven't seen them yet, here's a look at all the times the two actors appear in the new 'No Way Home' trailer.

Poor editing reveals Tobey, Andrew

It's unclear if Disney or Sony was responsible for the trailer, but whoever it was, clearly did a bad job with the editing. There are four major instances where the two actors appear to make an appearance, only to be badly edited out. The first, and highly memed moment appears towards the end, with a shot of Tom Holland's spidey facing off against the Lizard and Sandman. Many users noticed the Lizard suddenly appears to move his head very suddenly, almost as if he was punched by someone. But, not so surprisingly, there's no one near him. The moment is no longer visible in the trailers, but the internet has recorded it for posterity, as you can see here -

The second, and perhaps less subtle moment appears around two and a half minutes in. As MJ falls off the structure, you can briefly see something that looks like a hand, that is red in color. It's too quick and blurry to make out exactly what it is, but many have theorized online it's the remains of a poor editing job, and that the hand either belongs to Maguire or Garfield. Of course, it could just be a rope or some other construction material, but people are convinced it's another Spider-Man that wasn't edited out very well.

Just seconds after that, there's a quick moment of a hand reaching out to grab a falling MJ. Again, fans are very convinced that the hand belongs to Andrew Garfield, with the prevailing theory being he will catch MJ to "atone" or "undo" the death of Gwen Stacey from 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'. While at first glimpse it does look like Garfield's suit, it does appear to be Holland's hand, with a similar design seen in other shots in the trailer.

And finally, there's another blink-and-miss moment highlighted by serial leaker Daniel RPK. On the same set where MJ falls, there's a moment where Spider-Man can be seen swinging through the set in Holland's suit, but the eyes appear to be quite different from other shots. The tipster tweeted, "Looks like they reskinned a shot of Tobey or Andrew as Holland's suit but they forgot the eyes."

Whether Maguire and Garfield are actually in the film is something we won't know till it releases, the constant leaks and now edited errors clearly appear to indicate that Sony and Marvel and doing their very best to hide the reveal. Unfortunately, it seems like they just aren't doing a great job. 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' releases on December 17 in the US. You can watch the new trailer now on Sony and Marvel's social media accounts.
