LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Lana Del Rey has informed her fans that her car was targeted by burglars a second time this year, but this time they took a backpack full of devices that included several of her upcoming projects rather than the car itself. “A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place, and I stepped away for a minute,” Del Rey said in a video uploaded on her private Instagram account. “And the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all of the windows and took it.”

As a result, the celebrity said that she has lost a 200-page manuscript for her next Simon & Schuster book and as a result would have to start over. And even after she remotely deleted the laptop's data, Del Rey said that unreleased music is still being posted online. Apart from the laptop, three camcorders wand hard discs with unreleased music and private images that have been appearing online were also taken.

“Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it because it’s not coming out yet,” Del Rey requested. “And in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it. And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that. So that is an update that I would obviously normally not give, but I’m worried about it.”

Nevertheless, Del Rey stated that she will soon release her ninth studio album. She describes the theft as "a bit of a roadblock in terms of the creative process and keeping things safe and valuable and keeping me safe as well, with all of the action that's been going on around me, my home, everywhere I go," and her concerns are more deeply rooted in the invasion of privacy than in the theft itself." She added, “I don’t even think a plea for respect or some privacy would even do anything, but I do want to be honest about the fact that I do have concerns about what’s going to be out there.”

“Obviously I won’t ever leave anything in the car again, even if it’s just for a moment. But we’ve had the same issues at the house, and it is a constant thing. And although I’m so grateful to be able to share all of the good stuff, I just also want to share that it has been a challenge.”

Del Rey will soon appear on the song "Snow on the Beach" from Taylor Swift's upcoming album 'Midnights'. Swift describes Del Rey as “one of the best musical artists ever. The fact that I get to exist at the same time as her is an honor and a privilege.”
