LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 'Snowpiercer' Season 4, Andre Layton's newborn daughter emerges as a central plot element, despite having minimal screen time.

Four episodes in, Andre Layton is still on a quest to find his missing daughter, Liana, who was mysteriously kidnapped in Episode 1.

Since the abduction, there’s been no glimpse of Liana, leaving viewers as clueless as Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs).

The mystery deepens as we wonder why she was taken from New Eden and what the purpose of her kidnapping might be.

Who kidnapped Liana in 'Snowpiercer' Season 4?

In Episode 1 of 'Snowpiercer' Season 4, Dr Headwood (Sakina Jaffrey), accompanied by a man in a white metal suit, abducted Liana. When Liana's mother, Zarah Fahrami (Sheila Vand), tried to stop them, she met a tragic end.

Andre soon concludes that Liana must be on Snowpiercer. He accuses Admiral Anton Milius (Clark Gregg) of kidnapping Liana and secretly boards Snowpiercer in Episode 4 to find her.

In 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 Episode 4, Admiral Milius denies having Liana, but here's a catch!

When Milius contacts Big Alice for the first time over the radio in Episode 4, he claims that Andre has 'bad intel', rejecting any responsibility for the kidnapping. However, neither Andre nor the viewers can trust his denial.

By the end of the episode, when Milius's soldiers catch Josie Wellstead (Katie McGuinness) and bring her to the Engine, Milius tells her that he doesn't have Liana. However, he adds that he can take her to Liana if Andre agrees to give up Big Alice.

At this point, it appears that Milius helped Dr Headwood kidnap Liana for an experiment. In Season 3, we saw Joseph Wilford (Sean Bean) and Dr Headwood conducting a biological experiment on Zarah while she was pregnant with Liana.

As a result, Liana was born with special abilities, including resistance to extreme cold, similar to Josie. Dr Headwood and Wilford's experiment came to a halt when Andre came to know about it and took over Snowpiercer once again.

In the upcoming episode, Wilford is most likely to return to Snowpiercer. Having been forced to leave in the Season 3 finale, he likely collaborated with Milius during his absence.

Milius's team of scientists has been busy over the past seven years, working on various projects. This includes creating warm spots and an experiment gone wrong on Milius's soldiers.

Most likely, Liana could have been taken to Milius's bunker where the team of scientists are located. An experiment on her could help them understand the faults in their previous failed experiment on soldiers.

Four episodes of 'Snowpiercer' Season 4 are now streaming on AMC+.
