Is Snoop Dogg joining pro wrestling? Internet calls his All Elite Wrestling stunt 'the ugliest frog splash'
After Lindsey Graham calling the election win in Joe Biden's favor and Kanye West allegedly having had an affair with Jeffree Star, nothing seems out of bounds for 2021 anymore. But just a week into the year, when rap legend Snoop Dogg decided to appear in TNT's 'All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite', viewers were left shocked and stunned to a whole other level. The reason? Of course, Snoop wasn't going to just make a cameo and run. He actually ended up pinning a wrestler in what viewers are now calling "quite possibly the ugliest frog splash."
The January 6 episode of AEW saw Snoop make an appearance to accompany Cody Rhodes to the ring for his match against Matt Sydal. The pro-wrestling show features the likes of Rhodes alongside The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. This installment saw Rhodes picking up the win, and when Luther and Serpentico broke into the ring immediately after, Snoop didn't look too pleased with what was happened.

The fight saw Sydal overwhelm the heels with help from his opponent. But right when Rhodes was going in for the classic moonsault, Snoop called off the choreography to present the crowd with one from his end. And thus came the Snoop Dogg frog splash. The splash that saw Snoop pinning Serpentico soon went viral on Twitter, with trends abuzz about the rapper's cameo, most of them hailing the clip as 2021's saving grace.
"Everything is going to be okay, Snoop Dogg is the #2 trending topic in the USA right now," tweeted a fan. Others touted how "Snoop Dogg with quite possibly the ugliest frog splash I have ever seen and I love it!" Whether or not Snoop is joining pro wrestling after that stunt is still a mystery, but Twitter is buzzing with how much they would like to see him in a cage fight with Eminem, as a user noted: "So apparently Snoop Dogg made an appearance on #AEW. I'm calling now everybody, let's get #Snoop vs. Eminem in a steel cage match." Some were kind enough to say "Well, I give Snoop an A for effort for that splash." Others believe "Snoop’s “Frog Splash” should be renamed to the Doggy Splash."

The stunt also brought to mind how Snoop is related to WWE Smackdown's Sasha Banks, who is the rapper's first cousin of rapper. "Who knew. Sasha Banks grew up idolizing Eddie and her cousin Snoop grew up idolizing Vickie," tweeted a fan about Snoop's splash. Another commented: "Snoop Dogg is a cousin to Sasha Banks wouldn't know it from that frog splash."
Regardless of whether Snoop decides to join the world of pro wrestling, his ties to the sport aren't new. In the past, Snoop has served as the official 'Master of Ceremonies' for the Playboy Bunnymania Lumberjack Match at WrestleMania XXIV in 2008. In October 2009, he also was the Guest Host for Raw. And all the way in March 2016, Snoop was inducted into the celebrity wing of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame just the night before WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas. He had garnered the honor after having made several appearances for the company.
