The movie begins as we see Meg planning on going to France but before that, she drops into the city her sister Jennifer lives in so as to help her out with her restaurant. After something urgent comes up Jennifer goes back to their home to help with the family theater while Meg decides to stay behind and help with the restaurant's upcoming party. The city also sees her meet Joe, the new general manager at Jen's restaurant, as they have a quirky first interaction. This is Meg's last time for a while around her loved ones before she departs for France.

The Hallmark movie true to what was promised is filled with the fervor of Christmas with family traditions, cookie decorating, ornaments, and everything else in the mix. Ashley Williams is charming as Meg who is incredibly chirpy, always full of beans and a chatterbox. The real-life sibling bond between her and Kimberly Williams-Paisley as her sister Jennifer comes through in the movie as well with the 'I love you' they both say each time before ending a call displaying utter sincerity. You know a good opposites attract trope is always fun to watch as two individuals come together for a shared purpose and that is partly the case with Meg and Joe (Keith Robinson). He's more of a realist while she's an optimist. As she shows him what a little positivity and faith can do, he too learns to look at the bright side. What's a movie without a classic dilemma? A little less interesting is what. So when Meg and Joe unite to save the Christmas party we love that sparks fly between the duo with even Jennifer catching on to the sweet development. As things proceed a confused Meg also finds clarity with her realizing that there's nothing in France for her and that she would rather be there with her family and the people she loves, working a job she actually has fun doing.

'Sister Swap: Christmas in the City' is a cute watch that brings together the goodness of family and Christmas, the two things that go together like bread and butter. It gives the message that a place is made special by the people who you share it with, as without them you'd be lonely and unhappy. The movie winds up on a happy note as the sisters decide to work together in the place that makes them happiest with the people they love the most.

''Sister Swap: Christmas in the City' is available to watch on the Hallmark channel.
