Simon Cowell flaunts slim figure on beach holiday, shows off dramatic weight loss after switch to vegan diet
Recently, having lost three stones in weight following a 2017 health scare, Simon Cowell flaunted his physique at the beach with partner Lauren Silverman and their son, Eric. The 'X-factor' judge, aged 60, had to resort to a vegan diet after his health scare.
Cowell revealed that he had lost 4 inches from his waist in an exclusive interview with The Sun Online, saying, “The most dramatic period was the first month where most of the weight comes off and you look at yourself and think ‘wow’."
After suffering a fall at his home in London in October 2017, Cowell re-evaluated his lifestyle. He said that following the diet not only helped him lose pounds but also be a better father to his son Eric. “My memory's better, my energy's better. And when you've got a five-year-old you've got to be able to keep up with them because the minute they're awake they're all over the place. His energy is unbelievable. So I was conscious of the fact I have to keep up with him energy-wise and someone recommended this as the way to go. I tried it and I stuck to it, it's one of the easiest things I've ever done," said Cowell.
He credits his weight loss to his new diet of no red meat and light beer, “I used to be 36-inch waist and now I’ve lost four inches. I’m really happy now. You can drink this light beer but you’ve got to be sensible about quantities. I have loads more energy and feel great. All I do is avoid just red meat - white meat is fine - and I eat loads of vegetables, salads and drink this great beer," Cowell said.
The couple escaped the cold in the UK and enjoyed the sun in Barbados. Cowell sported a blue and white print short while his partner, Silverman, aged 42 sported a simple black swimsuit. The family enjoyed a dip in the water, with some jet-skiing surrounded by family and friends. The couple has been together since 2013 and looked happy as ever as they held hands and enjoyed the warm winter on their beach outing.
