SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA: Britney Spears was finally permitted to enjoy her life once more after being released from conservatorship in November 2021, much to the relief of her admirers. Although her fans may not be aware of Britney's medical difficulties, some who know the singer said that they are still concerned for her health. However, Spears, 41, does not feel the same and became enraged online on Thursday, February 9, in response to rumors that her inner circle had planned, then abandoned, an intervention for her, as such reports have caused rising anxiety for the pop diva.

TMZ on Thursday, February 9, reported, according to multiple sources with firsthand knowledge, that Britney's unpredictable and erratic behavior has concerned those around her. She reportedly takes medications that "hype her up." According to their sources, she has been "flying off the handle" more frequently lately and is not taking the drugs that help to keep her under control.

Why did Britney Spears' family want to stage an intervention?

Numerous media sources carried stories claiming that the singer's friends were worried about her mental health and that one of them feared for her life. According to a TMZ report on Thursday, February 9, physicians, Britney's management, an interventionist, and her husband, actor Sam Asghari, allegedly intended to try to persuade the singer to get treatment and seclude her in a home in Los Angeles for two months out of fear that she would die soon. Jamie and Lynne Spears, as well as Britney's two sons, were not present. The intervention was supposed to take place on Tuesday, February 7.

However, on the same day, Britney got "somewhat aware" of the plan, and for some reason, everything changed and the intervention proposal was canceled. TMZ asked several people close to Britney and Sam why the plug was pulled considering her condition, but no one had an answer. However, sources stated that Britney saw a doctor Wednesday, February 8 late afternoon and it "went well."

Then, as reported by Page Six, on Thursday, February 9, Asghari announced that the "intervention did not occur," albeit he made clear that a plan had been in place. “My wife is in full control of her life and will continue to make all decisions involving her care regardless of circumstances,” Asghari, 28, in a statement mentioned. “Speculation on her health is inappropriate and should end immediately," he added.

Britney Spears reveals she's taking Prozac pills for depression

Slamming the media for making a controversy, Spears herself dismissed the necessity for intervention, writing on Instagram, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died.” she wrote. "I mean at some point enough is enough !!! I'm probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there's obviously a lot of people who don't wish me well !!!" as reported by Insider.

In another video in the series of videos she posted after the failed 'intervention' was reported she declared on Friday, Feb 10: "This week in the news it said that I almost died and that I have a manager and “doctors” !!! I don’t have a management team nor will I ever again in my life !!! I don’t have “medical doctors” !!! I take Prozac for depression and that’s about it 🤷🏼‍♀️ !!! I’m an extremely boring person !!! It frustrates me to know that any news outlet would say any of this !!! It’s worse than a cruel joke because people actually believe this stuff and all of my efforts in getting better with my little routine of prayer and therapy seems to not count for anything when people can say things that are incredibly wrong !!! Anyways change of the subject … enough drama … I’m into diamond gowns and funky fashion at the moment 👗 !!! Good Morning."

Despite the singer's concerns, those who have worked closely with her argue that Spears shouldn't be placed under another conservatorship, even if she still requires some type of assistance or care. “Nobody outside the very small conservatorship circle knows what Britney’s medical status really is,” a high-ranking insider told Page Six. “If people knew Britney’s actual medical status, I think it would reveal that her mental problems are far more severe than people realize.”

'Personification of "hot mess'"

People, as usual, were way too quick to share their thoughts and comments on social media with one saying, "Congrats Britney. You are now the personification of "hot mess." Tara Reid and Lindsay Lohan say thanks." Another tweeted, "She was doing so well for so many years under her conservatorship. It's funny that thousands of fans that don't know her at all helped end that. Shocking that her family may have known her better than people on social media." A third chimed in saying, "Is it really our job to protect a millionaire from herself? SIt back and enjoy the show." "i feel bad for her. she has had a life from hell, and today she's just mocked for surviving that life. it's pretty horrible actually," said a fourth. A fifth commented, "that dam conservatorship cheated us out of what would've been a quality porn phase."
