'Shotgun Wedding' Ending Explained: Did Tom and Darcy marry each other?
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez is back in action with Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Shotgun Wedding’ and has once again proved that she is an amazing actress as well apart from being a brilliant musician. Many people might be thinking of how peculiar the title is and that’s one of the reasons why fans are so excited about the movie because it makes things a little more interesting than conventional wedding movies. So, ‘Shotgun Wedding’ is the story of Tom (Josh Duhamel) and Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) who are about to get married after being in a relationship for many years.
Tom (Josh Duhamel) is really nervous because he wants everything to be perfect on the wedding day. He wants to make his wife and his parents super happy with all the arrangements. However, Darcy never wanted to have such a lavish wedding. She only wanted to get married to Tom and spend her life with him. But things get wild when Darcy’s ex turns up at the wedding and arguments start happening between the couple. The issue becomes so big that Darcy walks away by throwing away her engagement ring. The couple even decides to call off their wedding and when they thought things couldn’t get worse, a group of masked gunmen arrive at the wedding venue and take over the entire place. All the wedding guests are now held hostage, except Tom and Darcy.

‘Shotgun Wedding’ Ending Explained: Did someone hire the Pirates?
The wedding venue chosen by Tom was a huge one and looked really gorgeous. However, it is soon established that the island is frequently visited by the pirates and they do their usual stuff here. Tom knew about it and was making a boat for the next day, but he doesn’t tell Darcy about it because he didn’t want her to worry about this situation.
As soon as the masked gunmen enter the venue, everyone thinks that they are local pirates and will go away once their work is finished. However, Tom soon realizes that these masked gunmen don’t seem to be local pirates because they weren’t acting like pirates who usually leave the place once the work is over. Apart from that, they seemed to have a different agenda, and stealing money was not one of them. Tom does everything to find out how gunmen entered the venue and soon finds out that one of the masked men had a wedding invitation with him, which is strange because he could have only received the invitation from one of the guests. So, Tom is pretty sure that one of the guests is responsible for this dangerous situation.
Well, his suspicion was absolutely right because Sean had planned the entire thing to steal money from Darcy’s father. When Darcy and Sean were dating each other, he (Sean) was working with Darcy’s father, Robert, and leading a happy life. But he soon realized that he was not getting his due and broke up with Darcy. He made this plan to rob Robert’s money and took the help of Robert’s new girlfriend to scheme everything.

Tom and Darcy were having such an amazing time with each other, but everything turned upside down when Sean, Darcy’s ex-boyfriend, arrived there and arguments started to happen. But the arrival of masked gunmen gave them the time to think about the situation and made them realize how much they love each other.
So, they stick together to take Sean down and hatch a plan to keep the hostages safe as well. After all the action and gunfighting, they are able to defeat Sean and his group of men and end up being together on the beach. Tom tells Darcy how much he loves her and proposes that they should start fresh now. However, Darcy has some other things on her mind and doesn’t need a fresh start because she wants to continue with their relationship and spend the rest of their lives together.
Darcy gets down on one knee and proposes to Tom. He says yes and they get married to each other later that evening. The entire venue was destroyed, but everyone chipped in and the wedding finally took place.
