MANSION MAMA: Shivon Zilis bought $4M property even as baby daddy Elon Musk downsized
Shivon Zilis, an executive at Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company Neuralink and the mother of his newly born twins, bought a luxurious mansion last year before she gave birth. The SpaceX founder fathered two children with Zilis in November 2021. Musk now has nine known children, including five with his first wife Justine Musk, and two with the singer Claire Boucher, known professionally as Grimes.
According to the documents obtained by Radar, Zilis purchased a 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 4,579 sq. ft. home in Austin, Texas. The sale price was not listed but the home is worth an estimated $4.3 million. The property amenities include a chef’s kitchen, granite counters, wood and stone floors, cathedral beamed ceilings, a fireplace along with a backyard fire pit, and a full cabana with a bar. The home was purchased in August 2021 before Shivon gave birth to Elon’s twins in November. Elon is not listed on the deed.

What is Shivon Zilis' net worth?
Zilis, 36, is considered a rising star in artificial intelligence and has been listed on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in 2015 and LinkedIn’s 35 Under 35. According to her LinkedIn, Zilis works as director of operations and special projects at Neuralink, Musk’s neurotechnology firm, which seeks to create human-machine interfaces. According to multiple reports, Shivon is estimated to have a net worth between $5 million and $10 million.
Born in Ontario, she received her degree from Yale in economics and philosophy in 2008. The same year, she got a job as a Senior Strategist with IBM. Zilis was a founding member and partner of Bloomberg Beta from 2012 to 2018. Bloomberg Beta is a $75 million venture fund backed by Bloomberg LP that finances start-ups that are changing the way people work. She began working at Neuralink in May 2017 and that's when she met the tech billionaire Musk.
Back in December 2021, Musk denied a report that he had been secretly living in a $12 million estate in Austin, Texas — claiming that he lives in a barebones $50,000 rental home near his SpaceX site in Boca Chica, Texas. "My primary home is literally a ~$50k house in Boca Chica / Starbase that I rent from SpaceX. It’s kinda awesome though. Only house I own is the events house in the Bay Area. If I sold it, the house would see less use, unless bought by a big family, which might happen someday", Musk wrote in a June tweet.

The lakeside estate is owned by his friend Ken Howery. Howery also denied the report, saying, "Elon does not live at my home, he lives in South Texas. He stayed at the house as my guest occasionally when traveling to Austin.”
Zilis' new home is only ten minutes away from Musk's home where he denied living in and approximately four hours away from his allegedly modest place in Boca Chica.

Information regarding Musk’s new children was revealed via court documents earlier. Musk, 51, and Zilis, 36, filed a petition to change their twins' names to “have their father’s last name and contain their mother’s last name as part of their middle name”. The petition was filed in Austin, Texas, where the babies were born, and was approved by the judge. Zilis reportedly gave birth in November 2021, weeks before Musk and Grimes had their second child via a surrogate.
