Jane Fonda slammed as she says 'White men' should be arrested for 'climate crisis': 'She's a disaster'
CANNES, FRANCE: Jane Fonda is being slammed for specifically blaming White men for creating "climate crisis." "It is a tragedy that we have to absolutely stop. We have to arrest and jail those men — they're all men [behind this]," the 'Grace and Frankie' star said at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, May 27. Fonda added that there "would be no climate crisis if there was no racism." Speaking of the "hierarchy" that gives power to men, the actress said, "White men are the things that matter and then everything else [is] at the bottom."
Fonda then urged people in positions to act quickly to save the planet. "This is serious. We've got about seven, eight years to cut ourselves in half of what we use of fossil fuels, and unfortunately, the people that have the least responsibility for it are hit the hardest," she said, according to Daily Mail. "Global South, people on islands, poor people of color."

'There would be no climate crisis if there was no racism'
"It's good for us all to realize, there would be no climate crisis if there was no racism. There would be no climate crisis if there was no patriarchy," Fonda said. "A mindset that sees things in a hierarchical way. White men are the things that matter and then everything else [is] at the bottom."
'She's a disaster'
Fonda is facing backlash on social media for her comments. "not sure how you call that "liberal"," one user commented on Facebook. "She hurts every cause she tries to use to gain her own lost credibility by supporting. Why can't she just go away? She's a disaster...," another user said.
"Still hates America just like she did In things she said about Vietnam. Sad," one user said, while another wrote, "Mary Jane Fonda. I have only one thing to say to her. GO AWAY!!!!!!!!" "Never watch a tv show shes in i turn channel immediately," said one user. "Can we arrest her. Her mouth causes more climate change than anything," wrote another.
