Jane Fonda opens up on 'bad mood' Robert Redford and reveals the one intimate act he hated
CANNES, FRANCE: Jane Fonda and Robert Redford may have acted in four moves together but the 86-year-old was not always an enjoyable co-star. “He did not like to kiss,” Fonda said on Friday, May 26, during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.
“I never said anything [to him about it], and he’s always in a bad mood, and I always thought it was my fault," the 'Coming Home' actress added, Deadline reports. Redford has played the leading role in a few films with Fonda including 'Barefoot in the Park' (1967) and 'The Electric Horseman' (1979).

Redford 'has an issue with women'
“He’s a very good person,” Fonda, 85, said. “He just has an issue with women.” Although she did not elaborate on what the "issue" was, Fonda revealed that she was once in love with the two-time Golden Globe Award winner for his sense of humor.
'I finally knew I had grown up'
In 2017, Fonda worked with Redford in 'Our Souls at Night' when she realized that she had changed very much while Reford remained exactly the same. “What was I, about 80 years old or something like that? And I finally knew I had grown up,” she said according to Page Six. “When he would come on the set three hours late in a bad mood, I knew it wasn’t my fault.” However, the 'Barbarella' star clarified, “We always had a good time.”
'I live for sex scenes with him'
Fonda's latest remarks however contradict what she admitted to in 2017 about filming intimate scenes with Redford. “I live for sex scenes with him,” she shared at the time. “He doesn’t like sex scenes, [but] he’s a great kisser.” Redford had also revealed previously that his friendship with Fonda has “always been easy” because of the mutual love they share for each other. “There’s a love there, there’s a connection there,” he said in the same 2017 interview. “It has to do with what your attitude is about work and what is your attitude about life.”
