'You heard it here first': Kate Winslet finally weighs in on ‘Titanic’ door debate, fans say 'she let go'
WEST WITTERING, ENGLAND: Kate Winslet has finally addressed the years-long question on the legendary 'Titanic' door debate, and here is her response, "I don't f**king know." It's been nearly 25 years since the film's release and yet fans are left with one question whether both Jack and Rose could have fit on the door?
During the climactic scene of James Cameron's 'Titanic', the debate refers to the moment when Rose is laying on the shattered door sending her lover Jack's fate to freeze in the water. While many have argued over the years the door had room for both Jack and Rose, and whether if Rose could've scooted a little, Jack could've survived. "I don't f**ing know," Winslet joked when asked the infamous question during her appearance on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast. "That's the answer is I don't f**ing know.'

Winslet, who is currently promoting her new film 'Avatar', added her own water understanding and said, "All I can tell you is I do have a decent understanding of water and how it behaves, I really do." "If you put two adults on a standup paddleboard, it becomes immediately extremely unstable, that is for sure," she said, according to New York Post. Winslet who also previously expressed her opinion added it all came down to keeping the raft afloat.

“I have to be honest: I actually don’t believe that we would have survived if we had both gotten on that door,” contemplated the actress. “I think he would have fit, but it would have tipped and it would not have been a sustainable idea." Giving her official answer, the actress remarked, "So, you heard it here for the first time.” “Yes, he could have fit on that door, but it would not have stayed afloat. It wouldn’t,” Winslet concluded. Whilst few netizens agreed with Winslet, many still continued to debate the pressing matter. One Twitter user said, "Yes this is what i really needed to know." Another user debated, "She saying what Mythbusters found, that the door wasn't able to stay stable and afloat with 2 people on it (mind you, this was two grown, slightly overweight men) but if they put Rose's lifejacket under it to give it more buoyancy, it could handle it." Chimed another, "If you ever played with a boogie board (Styrofoam float) you'd know that the life jacket would pop out from underneath it." One user claimed, "It's a movie. It's not that important. Want to know why he died. It was in the script." "She let go," joked a user referring to the iconic song in the movie, 'My Heart Will Go On'. Another user added, "She never let go of trying to survive and he always lived on in her heart."
