'His creativity is still alive': Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon pays tribute to brother Brandon 30 years after his death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee recently took to the Twitter account named after her late brother Brandon Lee to remember the actor who died 30 years ago while shooting for ‘The Crow’ in 1993.
The producer of ‘The Legend of Bruce Lee’ could be heard saying in a video posted on the platform, "I cannot believe it has been 30 years,” before adding, "But here's what I have to say: His beauty, his soul, his intelligence, his creativity is still alive with us, here with us. We are going to be finding ways to celebrate him and bring him further into the consciousness this year and every year going forward.”

A vocal advocate for gun and firearms-related safety in Hollywood sets, Shannon concluded on a positive note, "It is a celebration of your life, which was beautiful. Too short, but beautiful and important. And we miss you. So please think of Brandon today. Join in celebrating his life."
The video starts with a recorded interview of Brandon speaking about his experience of hitchhiking at the Tassajara Buddhist monastery. Later, Shannon remembers her brother in a heartfelt way.
'Too short, but beautiful and important'
Brandon was the older child of legendary Kung Fu artist Bruce Lee and martial arts trainer Linda Lee Cadwell. Born in 1965, Brandon carved his name in the history of martial arts movies before he landed his breakthrough role as Eric Draven in the 1994 film ‘The Crow’. However, during the film’s production, he was fatally wounded by a prop gun that took his life when he was just 28 years old and was still awaiting the release of his breakthrough movie.
Before acting in ‘The Crow’, he also starred in the television film ‘Kung Fu: The Movie’ (1986) and ‘Kung Fu: The Next Generation’ (1987). He made his debut in Hong Kong with ‘Legacy of Rage’ in 1986.
His first Hollywood venture was in 1991 with ‘Showdown in Little Tokyo’ where he was joined by Dolph Lundgren as his co-star. The film received cult status years after its initial run. In 1992, Brandon appeared in ‘Rapid Fire’ where he was cast as the protagonist. In 1993, before his death, he had completed shooting almost all the scenes for the movie before he died.
'Gone way too soon'
Many fans joined Shannon in paying tribute to the late actor. One fan said, "I recognize the voice of interviewer Bobbie Wygant! Brandon will always be a favorite of mine. Incredible natural charisma, would definitely have had a much bigger career as the years went on. I rewatch his work often. Much love to all on this sad anniversary."
One user remembered the day Brandon died and wrote, "I just had my birthday yesterday. It's like hearing this news yesterday back in 1993 when I had just turned 8 and a complete shock that he passed away. I ask that question even know how could this happen? It shouldn't have happened."
Another remembered the news too, "I vividly remember hearing about his passing. Had just turned midnight here in the UK and it came on the radio. I was crushed. Still can’t believe he's gone 30 years later. Such a massive talent with so much more to give."
