Shakira's luxurious Miami mansion worth $14.6M has major termite infestation, singer seen hunting for new home
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Shakira, who set up her home in a $15 million waterfront mansion after leaving Barcelona following her split from Gerard Pique, is facing an issue with the place. As per reports, the mansion, where she is apparently staying on a temporary basis, has been invaded by termites, and due to this, the singer, along with her two sons — Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7 — has been unable to fully move in until the problem gets resolved.
The issue was reported by paparazzi Jordi Martin, reports Marca. The outlet further mentions that a pest control company was called in to tackle the issue last week. Essentially Sports reports that the Colombian composer was unable to resolve the issue before moving to Miami because of Pique's father's eviction notice. It also mentioned that since the property is in the coastal region and is surrounded by greenery, it is common for insects to be found in the house. A pest control team recently visited her property, as said earlier, but it might take several days to complete the task considering it is a giant beach house.

Details of the property
According to Spain's La Razon, the mansion is white in color and minimalist in style, has two floors spread over 750 square meters, as well as a private dock and spectacular sea views. The property has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and large living areas, one with oriental decoration and another with a billiard room, states a report by Marca. However, there is no information on whether Shakira, who barely left anything behind in Spain including heavy-duty furniture, is going to settle in at this 8,708 sq ft space, which was purchased by her in 2001 for around $2.7 million and was built in 1951.
The mansion was put up for sale in 2018 for $10 million but the sales listing was removed in August 2021, suggesting that Shakira has moved back in with her two sons after leaving Barcelona, as previously reported. In April 2023 on Instagram, Shakira opened up about moving from Barcelona writing, as translated to English, "I settled in Barcelona to give my sons stability, the same that we are now looking for in another corner of the world besides family, friends and the sea. Today we started a new chapter in the search for happiness," states Yahoo!
Is Shakira looking for a new place?
According to The Sun, the singer has been on the hunt for a new home as she was spotted with an estate agent, along with her brother Tonino, on a tour in the neighborhoods of the southeastern state. As per the outlet, the new house is worth $50 million.
