Shakira and Kim Kardashian set sights on mansion on world's 'most luxurious residential area' in Florida
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Shakira has been in the headlines for quite a while since she ended her 11-year relationship with Spanish footballer Gerard Pique. Since her separation, the Colombian pop star has been looking for a new residence in Miami. The 46-year-old seems to be unhappy in her present ultra-luxurious mansion where she has been staying with her two sons for more than a month now and is searching for another house in which she can settle permanently in the US.
The 'Rabiosa' singer is not wasting any time in starting her new journey away from the FC Barcelona star as snaps of her first day-to-day life in Miami came to light a few days back. The Colombian singer was pictured with a real estate agent in one of the photos which hinted that the singer might be looking to buy a new mansion in an exclusive part of the city where she could enjoy more privacy.

'Most expansive residential area in the world'
According to Spanish journalist Alex Rodriguez on 'El Programa de Ana Rosa', Shakira may have set her sights on a mansion on Fisher Island, which is described as, "The most expensive residential area in the world, where there are the largest number of millionaires per square meter. It can only be accessed by boat or helicopter."
What is Fisher Island?
Fisher Island, a private island just off Miami Beach, is the wealthiest postcode in the US. The private island inhabited by 1,300 residents, has an average income of around $2.5M a year, according to a nationwide analysis of tax data by the financial publication Bloomberg.
The island, often described as a paradise, has its own beach made with sand from the Bahamas. Here, the residents reportedly earn more than the ones living in the second wealthiest postcode, the city of Atherton, which is the epicenter of Silicon Valley.
How much does one have to pay to live there?
To live on Fisher Island, one has to make a down payment of about $250,000 which then drops to $22,256. When it comes to amenities too, everything is very exclusive. Private security, restaurants, a golf course, two swimming pools, tennis courts and a beach just for residents are some of the perks residents are privy to. To top it off, the island also provides absolute privacy which the Colombian singer is desperately seeking at present.
Kim Kardashian eyeing a spot too
Besides Shakira, Kim Kardashian would also like to live on the exclusive island. It is not yet known if both celebrities are competing for a place on Fisher Island or if both will move here and become neighbors.
