Seventeen's Jun and The8 return to South Korea from home China after three months
Seventeen released their last mini-album, ‘Attacca’, as a thirteen-member unit but the promotions of the album saw Jun and The8 missing from the group's usual lineup. The8 (Minghao) and Jun, who were on a temporary hiatus from Seventeen’s group activities to focus on their solo careers, had departed for China for a short period in 2021. It was then reported that the duo would continue to work in China until further notice.
Well, it's time Carats welcomed the duo back as both Jun and The8 officially returned to South Korea from China after three months.
In early September, Pledis announced that the two Chinese members of Seventeen were going to be spending some time with their families and focus on their solo projects in China until the end of 2021, taking a well-deserved break from their activities in South Korea.

Jun and The8 return safely
As the New Year approaches, there is a lot in store for Seventeen and now it seems the group is complete. Jun and The8 were both captured entering South Korea on December 20, when the two arrived at Incheon International Airport after departing from Xiamen, China. December 20 marks the official end of the two members’ Chinese solo activities, and the duo posed in front of the camera as they entered South Korea.
In his message to fans about his arrival, The8 wrote a lengthy post for his Chinese fans on Weibo. In his message, The8 mentioned how he had not visited his home country in ages and just like Summer Vacations pass in the blink of an eye, his short trip was fleeting. He said, “My return this time, compared to before, is much more full of experiences. I got to tour around with my parents, helped out with household matters, participate in fields that I've never involved myself in before.” He went on to say how he did a lot of things he never did before and got to learn new things that are now indescribable.
The8 ended his message by saying, “Now I'm full of vitality and energy again. I miss having schedules with my members, but that's okay because we're about to reunite soon.” In a bittersweet note talking about seeing his family again, he said, “In the water, a small piece of duckweed can float around aimlessly but eventually returns to the sea. The world is so small, so we'll definitely meet again,” aiming to comfort his family as he is going to be away from them for a while.

Jun and The8 left for China in September
Back in September, Pledis Entertainment announced that the label was trying to maximize Seventeen’s international projects and activities, and as part of the initiative, Jun and The8, the two Chinese members of the group, were going to focus on their activities in China from September to December.
Jun who is also active as an actor in China was there to shoot for his 2021 C-drama, ‘Exclusive Fairytale’, that has just wrapped its shooting schedule. Recently a video of The8 visiting Jun at his filming schedule in China was doing the rounds on the internet where fans caught a glimpse of the two Seventeen members interacting outside of their group schedules. The8, on the other hand, is focussing on his singing career in China.
