LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In a recent interview, ‘The Green Hornet’ star, Seth Rogen candidly voiced the reason for his success in Hollywood, which is, Lauren Miller and his decision to stay childless. The Canadian native, who married Miller in 2011 after seven years of dating said that their decision not to conceive helped them stay happy and propelled his success in the industry.

“There's a whole huge thing I'm not doing, which is raising children,” said 'The Fablemans' actor Rogen in the explosive interview. On being nudged by the host Steven Bartlett, who urged him to consider whether the couple’s lives would be “happier” if they had children, the 'Pam and Tommy' alum disagreed. He said, “I don't think it would,” he responded. “I've been around obviously a lot of children, I'm not ignorant to what it’s like. … Everyone I know has kids. I'm 40, you know? I know.”

What are his views on children?

In his interview with Steven Bartlett of ‘The Diary of a CEO’, Rogen says, “Some of my friends have had kids for decades. Some people want kids, some people don't want kids,” He then continues to explain his philosophy saying, “I mean, a lot of people have kids before they even think about it, from what I've seen honestly." Commenting on the conventional expectations society has from an individual, he continues, “You just are told, you go through life, you get married, you have kids — it’s what happens.”

“Me and my wife, neither of us were like that,” says Rogen firmly, advocating their idea of parenthood. Giving an insight into their philosophy, he said, “Honestly, the older we get the more happy and reaffirmed we are with our choice to not have kids. It was something we kind of talked about more, and we were like, ‘Have we made the right choice? Are we sure?’”

Talking about their realization after twelve years of marriage, he adds, “Now, more than anything, the conversation is like, ‘Honestly, thank god we don’t have children,” before affirming, “We get to do whatever we want.” Explaining how the decision to remain childless has helped them grow as a couple, Rogen discussed, “We are in the prime of our lives. We are smarter than we've ever been. We understand ourselves more than we ever have. We have the capacity to achieve a level of work and a level of communication and care for one another, and a lifestyle we can live with one another that we've never been able to live before, and we can just do that and we don't have to raise a child — which the world does not need right now,”

However, this is not the first time when Rogen advocated remaining childless. He has previously made the case for not having children in SiriusXM’s 'The Howard Stern Show' as they would take away the freedom to do “all this work that” he prefers. He said, “We're f*****g psyched all the time. We're lying in bed on Saturday mornings smoking weed, like watching movies naked - if we had kids we could not be f*****g be doing this."

Sticking to his point, he said, “There is no one whose child is giving them as much joy as we are right now getting because we do not have a kid." When the host said, one needs to have children as the priority, he replied, “Yeah, I don't want that. That does not sound fun to me and why, there's enough kids out there. Do we need more people? Who looks at the planet and thinks, do you know what we need, more f****n people. Like that is truly a confounding thing to me.”

Who is Lauren Miller?

Miller is an American actress who has starred in many of Rogen’s films including ‘Superbad’, ‘Zack and Miri Make a Porno’, ‘Observe and Report’, and ‘50/50’. After dating Rogen for seven years, they tied the knot in October 2011, and since then the couple has been growing stronger. She was last seen in a feature film named ‘Phobias’ where she played the character of Emma.

‘Refreshing and inspiring’

Fans seem to like his candidness as they chirped, “Very refreshing to hear someone vocalize, without shame or expectations from society, that they don't want to have kids and are happy with their choice. Very authentic and genuine." “Seth’s optimism is super refreshing and inspiring. He’s such a sweetheart, I aspire to be more like him,” said the second fan.

Rogen apparently struck a chord with the netizens as many fans resonated with his view on children with one saying, “100% spot on about kids. Me and my wife actively enjoy not having them too! 👍🏻😂." Another user applauded his reasoning, “Very refreshing to hear his reasoning for not having kids. Me and my wife think and feel exactly the same. Bang on Seth!” The third commented, “Refreshing to hear his reasons on not having children. It is not common to hear this take. I really liked this as it's exactly how me and my fiance think.”

Another person said: "I appreciate that Seth Rogen was asked about why he doesn't have children--it shouldn't be that ONLY WOMEN must defend this choice."
