LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amanza Smith uploaded a candid photo with tears on her face on Friday, April 7, 2023, to share her personal challenges. The reality star, who appears on the hit Netflix reality show 'Selling Sunset', is standing unapologetically in her truth.

After being likened to the notorious 'Tiger King' star Carole Baskin, 'Selling Sunset' star Amanza previously stated she waited to go public with the sexual assault she underwent as a youngster. Amanza rose to prominence as a star on the Netflix series in 2019, where viewers got to know her as she managed employment with parenting two children while their father and her ex-husband Ralph Brown went missing. Amanza told the Los Angeles Inquisitor that she delayed disclosing that she had been sexually molested as a youngster by two family members because trolls likened her to Carole, whose husband inexplicably disappeared in 1997. Now, the reality TV star has taken to Instagram to give a glimpse into her low days.

Amanza Smith shares tearful image with fans

"Some days look like this and It’s OK," Amanza captioned a recent Instagram image. Along with the post, she used the hashtag #mentalhealthawareness. Her intention in sharing the photo was to let people know that even celebrities have bad days.

Amanza has carved a hard route to shed light on a very dark period in her life after coming out publicly about her childhood abuse by two family members in an explosive essay for Mr Warburton magazine. Amanza dug skin-deep into her childhood trauma of severe neglect and sexual abuse from both her stepfather and step-grandfather from the ages of three to eleven years old in a live Instagram chat with editor-in-chief Derek Warburton in January.

In her Instagram live interview, Amanza explains, "It felt like the right time" to reveal her truth.

Many people are familiar with Amanza's harrowing story about her ex-husband and former NFL star Ralph. However, when Season Two of 'Selling Sunset' premiered in March 2019, Amanza was presented to the public as a knowledgeable interior designer and real estate agent. Social commentators quickly linked Amanza's marriage to Carole Baskin's marriage in Netflix's 'Tiger King', whose spouse similarly disappeared in the docuseries. "It was a cruel comparison," Amanza said.

'Beacon of strength ESPECIALLY for single mamas!'

One wrote, "It’s refreshing to see someone who has everything like you posting about struggles. Get well soon❤️."

Another chimed in, "I love that you are open and honest , so many men women teens suffer from mental health we need public figures like you to be real and show us we are not alone ! But never forget you are not alone either ❤️."
