Where is Ralph Brown? 'Selling Sunset' star Amanza Smith's ex-husband still missing, says 'it's ok to be not ok'
It's been almost two years since Amanza Smith, star of ‘Selling Sunset’, last heard from her ex-husband, who is also the father of her two kids. Recently, she penned a post about her struggles and mental health in an emotional post on Instagram. It said, “So I don’t even know @lelepons but I saw her post today and I was inspired. It’s ok not to be ok. Many people are afraid to be open about mental health."
The star opened up in the post about being a single parent, saying: "You all see me very strong and I appreciate so much the support I have gotten thru fans and friends for the way I carry myself thru this difficult new journey as a full time working single mom. I also want to honest and not pretend I’m always at the top of my game with it all. This was me last night at 4am when I couldn’t sleep because so much was on my mind. Hang in there everyone. You are not alone. #itsoknottobeok #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #selflove.”

Several people showed their support to the 44-year-old in the comment section of her Instagram post. One user said, “this too shall pass, crying is for the brave. you’ve got this. Take refuge in Christ our Lord he’ll carry the load.” Another user wrote, “You are not alone my love. God is greater than any self love or mental illness. Christ is always with you and I pray that you can come out of whatever is weighing you down.” “I see you. I respect and honor you. Sending love to you,” one person added.
Smith has always talked about her struggles in finding Brown, who she last saw on August 26, 2019. The last communication between the two happened through an email five days after he vanished. In October 2020, Smith spoke about her missing husband. She had said, “He was a great father when he was around. He was a very loyal, hands-on, dedicated, interactive father. I know it sounds so crazy. I know he's alive because we've had to get an attorney and file court records because I'm trying to get full custody. And at one point he submitted something to the courts where he did a change of address. We traced it back, and it's a PO Box at, like, a UPS store. So he's off the grid," she added. "Whatever's going on, and I have no idea what it is, he doesn't want to be found right now. And for me, if he doesn't want to be found, it's probably best that he's away until he's better or until he wants to come back."
Who is Ralph Brown and where is he now?
As per reports, Brown was the 140th overall pick in the 2000 NFL draft, going to the New York Giants. From 2000 to 2004, he played there before joining the Minnesota Vikings for two seasons. Before quitting his career as a sportsman, Brown also played one season with the Cleveland Browns and two more with the Arizona Cardinals.
In 2010, he tied the knot with Smith, at the tail end of his NFL days. The couple welcomed two children together - son Braker and daughter Noah. But the happy married life soon started turning sour and the two split up sometime in 2012. However, they continued to share the custody of their kids, until August 2019, when Brown suddenly went missing.
No one exactly knows what happened or why the University of Nebraska Hall of Fame CB vanished. But Smith has some theory regarding the mystery as she stated in a court filing, “I don’t know if he is suffering from depression, or whether or not he may be now having problems from the many concussions he suffered in pro football.” This year in February, the Netflix personality slammed her ex-husband by sharing a series of pictures with her son as she wrote, “My heart hurts when you are sad my sweet baby boy. How could a father walk away from his children? How can grandparents just turn their backs? I’ve been silently dealing with the pain and heartache of what is happening with this situation and the past couple weeks I’ve wiped so many tears from this little boys face. My heart hurts. While Brown has not yet come out of hiding or commented on Smith’s statements, he, however, addressed her and his current state in a November 2019 court declaration. He stated, “In 2010, my NFL career ended and my mental and physical pain from playing football for 21 years of my life was already causing me great pain. While I was married to Ms. Smith I had multiple physical and mental breakdowns in tears of pain and anguish in front of Ms. Smith stating that I did not know what was wrong with me because I felt my physical extremities, body and cognitive abilities were seeming to atrophy extensively.”
He added, "I didn’t understand at the time what was happening and I was very scared because of the multiple breakdowns, intense physical pain and mental struggles that numerous retired NFL players experience and I had seen on TV and read multiple articles.”
