'Selling Sunset' star Mary Fitzgerald is 'grateful' for managerial role but calls it a 'headache'
'Selling Sunset' has no shortage of drama, and Season 5 comes packed to the brim. But as the story plays out, the season also sees the realtors of the Oppenheim Group make some pretty impressive real estate deals, as all of them take their jobs very seriously. At the centre of it all is Mary Fitzgerald, who gets promoted to a managerial role in the upcoming season.
With Jason Oppenheim spending a considerable amount of time in OC, he needed someone to step in when he was away and have a handle on things. Fitzgerald was the right fit for it, given that she had worked at the Oppenheim Group and with him for over ten years. Fitzgerald was 'honoured and just grateful' for his trust in her to help run his business.

However, for those who have been keeping up with the show, it's no secret that there is drama between the realtors, as personalities tends to clash. For Fitzgerald, that is certainly the less exciting part of her job. "But the back part about it is I need to try and keep control of some of the people that are hard to control," she explained while talking to The Mirror. "It's a headache but it's also really cool at the time." she added.
"For the most part, all of the girls are extremely respectful and super excited for me," she added. One of the biggest reasons behind all the drama back in Season 4 and now on Season 5 are the comments made by Christine Quinn. Quinn is noted to have said that she is not getting listings because she is not 'fu--king' her boss, Jason, about Chrishell Stause.
This certainly seems to have rubbed the cast the wrong way, including Fitzgerald, who once was close to Quinn. "I think it's very unfair, and it's hard for me because when I have to be in the office, I have to put my friendships and my personal feelings aside and focus on what's best for the brokerage and how to fix problems." she said.
In addition to it, Fitzgerald herself previously dated Jason, so the comment certainly felt as though it was in bad taste. "Obviously I have personal feelings, I have a history there and I want to protect my friends but I have to be very neutral and just try to figure out how to solve the problem and make it better," she added.
