Spoilers for 'Secret Invasion' Episode 2

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There’s no doubt that ‘Secret Invasion’ was off to a brilliant yet soul-crushing start after the death of Maria Hill in the pilot episode. From there on, everyone was curious to see how Marvel's ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 2 would top it off, especially with the shock factor, and let’s just say… it definitely has. If you were expecting another Avenger or Nick Fury to pop off and die, that’s not something you should be worried about — for now at least.

‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 2 has plenty going for it, and it’s almost difficult to pinpoint the most gasp-worthy moments of the episode. Although, it is the ending really that shook everyone to their core. The main character in ‘Secret Invasion’ as a whole is Marvel fan-favorite Fury, played by Samuel L Jackson, and we see plenty of him in this episode. That also means that the cliffhanger rests upon him, and ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 2 delivered and how!

Is Nick Fury married?

As ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 2 finds itself edging towards the end, it is almost a little surprising to see a more domestic setting, in comparison to a Skrull getting shot only moments before that, and of course, the brutal torture scene executed by Olivia Coleman. Now, while all of that had our attention for most of the episode, Fury making his way to a secluded safehouse really stood out. At first, viewers are left guessing. Is he visiting a friend? Could it be Carol Danvers? But it doesn’t take long for the camera to focus on an unnamed Skrull using a chopping board and preparing a meal. Once again, the guessing. This Skrull could still be a friend, even Talos could be cooking for Fury, for all we know, but that isn’t the case.

Instead, Fury enters the kitchen and comes to face a beautiful woman, who is also the same woman that introduced Gravik to Fury at the very beginning. There’s no doubt that the two have shared a bond for a long time as Fury puts on his wedding band before kissing his wife. Fury being married to a Skrull was definitely not any Marvel fan’s bingo card, but it helps with the plot significantly and is the icing on the cake for ‘Secret Invasion’ Episode 2, which welcomes Priscilla Fury, played by Charlayne Woodard.

There’s a lot to unpack when it comes to Fury, and this revelation has added another intriguing layer to the plot. Fury is now possibly connected to Gravik, and as the mini-series continues, the plot will continue to unfold. Nevertheless, ‘Secret Invasion’ definitely needs to tie the loose ends when it comes to Fury’s wife and his married life.
