Seeing the Infinity Gauntlet in comics and movies has always been exciting for everyone because it has the power to do anything. The infinity stones have always and the gauntlet is two of the most aspects of the Marvel Universe. But we know that nothing of that sort exists in real life because it’s all fiction. Well, it seems that the idea of having a real-life Infinity Gauntlet has finally come true, all thanks to Marvel.

The production giant unveiled a real-life Infinity Gauntlet that has the capacity to hold six precious gemstones. Interestingly, Marvel has also come forward with a collection of gorgeous-looking ‘Infinity Stones’ comprised of actual gems with a combined value of over $25 million, as per Marvel.

During the event, Marvel revealed that they have collaborated with East Continental Gems to create a collection the Infinity Collection of Gemstones, which is made up of six real-life expensive stones representing the Mind, Time, Reality, Space, Soul, and Power stones from the Marvel Comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe. The collector’s item was unveiled by ‘Shark Tank’ star Daymond John and revealed that only a limited number of pieces will be created and they will be “available to the public in drops”.

As far as precious stones are concerned, then every stone has its own distinct classification. Like, the Time Stone is a Colombian Emerald, nearing 23-carat while the Space Stone is a Sapphire from the island of Madagascar and clocks in at over 30 carats. Meanwhile, the Reality Stone is an oval-shaped, 15-plus carat natural ruby from Mozambique and the Power Stone is an oval-shaped, natural amethyst. The Soul Stone is a cushion-shaped Spessartite, and the Mind Stone is a brilliant cut yellow diamond.
Although people present at the Comic-Con were pretty excited to see the collector’s item, social media users trolled Marvel for introducing such a costly item and said this is just for “filthy rich people” and not real fans.

One of the social media users said, “At least something for the filthy rich fans.” Another social media user wrote, “Those gems aren't worth anywhere near $25 million. Don't care what anyone says.” Another user said, “Yeah... cause I would pay 25 mil. for a bunch of colored rocks.” Another Twitter user tweeted, “Great we gotta be getting at least somewhat close to the part of the list where we get food right? Right?!?” “How many of these were mined with slave labor and stolen from the real owners? Just asking,” said another user.

Talking about the collector’s item, Paul Gitter, SVP, Marvel Consumer Products, said, “Fans and collectors are very important consumers for Marvel since they truly live the Marvel lifestyle every day and are always seeking to connect with the brand in new and unique ways. We feel this authentic gemstone collection is cool and unexpected and extends the reach of the Marvel brand.”

In MCU, the Infinity Stones were first mentioned in the 2011 movie ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ and except for the Soul Stone, every other Infinity Stone had appeared in at least one previous movie before ‘Infinity War’. The Space Stone was featured in ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ while The Mind Stone was first seen in ‘The Avengers’ movie. On the other hand, fans witnessed The Reality Stone in 2013’s ‘Thor: The Dark World’. Meanwhile, The Power Stone and The Time Stone were first featured in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ (2014) and ‘Doctor Stranger’ (2016).

In the world of comics, the Infinity Stones have a lot of history and people might want to have a piece of that history by buying such a classy but so expensive collector’s item.
