NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'TODAY' news anchor Savannah Guthrie was "cold" to her team of assistants during the taping of the live show on Monday, says a report by The Sun.

According to an insider at the taping, a team of assistants surrounded Savannah, 50, to lend her a helping hand as soon the commercial breaks were announced while filming on Monday. A crew member who appeared to be an intern was busy changing the call cards and notes of the anchor while her make-up and hair team also arrived on stage to give her last-minute touch-ups.

But all these efforts made by the support staff were ignored by Guthrie as she was either too busy talking to her co-host or using her phone. The star news anchor neither made eye contact with her support staff nor appreciated their efforts. However, Savannah was tickled pink as soon the camera spotted her while she took over the center stage.

As her rival co-host Hoda Kotb, 58, was absent, Savannah took the charge of leading the biggest news stories and interacting with fans. She not only reported all the major news stories but also interviewed guest celebrity Idris Elba solo while her rival co-host was off-air.

As soon, as Savannah stepped out of the studio to film outside, a large crowd of audience welcomed her with big smiles and roars. She made sure to wave to everyone and even stopped to talk to a few lucky fans.

The ongoing feud between Hoda and Savannah is known to all. And this feud has led to the show's staff choosing their own sides. As per the report by the Sun, the staff prefers Hoda over Savannah and gush over their favorite 'TODAY' news anchor. A source told The Sun that Hoda is everyone's "absolute favorite" and is "so warm and friendly" to all the staff behind cameras.

Unlike Savannah, Hoda takes out time to hold small talks with her staff and also tries to organize small Q&As for the summer intern staff. Hoda is also a "great mentor off-camera" and even knows everyone's names on the staff, said the source.

The viewers of the show have noticed a lot of tension between the co-hosts in recent months. The speculations of the viewers came out right when an insider told Sun that the co-hosts "can't stand each other."

The insider claimed, "Savannah is the boss. After Matt Lauer was ousted, Savannah grabbed power, and she really wanted Willy Geist in Hoda's role, but his ratings were just not up to par for the network." Hoda out-maneuvered Savannah and got the spot." The source added that Savannah "thinks of herself as a real news person."
