'She turns my stomach': Savannah Guthrie slammed for coronation broadcast as 'Today' fans wonder where Hoda Kotb is
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The internet isn’t the easiest place to navigate when it comes to harsh critique from viewers and fans. King Charles’ coronation was the highlight of the week, and every little detail was watched from under a microscope. No error could be made, and while everyone was on their best behavior, ‘Today’ fans had a few things to say about the coverage by Samantha Guthrie.
Not only have fans criticized Guthrie’s looks, sneakers, and smile but also posed a very important question to the ‘Today’ show in general. Where is Hoda Kotb? Clearly, the fans wanted Kotb around to cover the King’s coronation, but instead were welcomed by Guthrie in a bright pink dress! The viewers had a lot to say and they did not hold back.

‘Today’ fans have not held back in the slightest when it comes to criticizing Guthrie, as one fan commented on Guthrie’s Instagram post, “Susannah voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. She should have kept her mouth shut and let the English commentator speak, people who knew what they were talking about.” Not only did this person get Guthrie’s name wrong, but also did not like her voice or what she had to say! Other fans commented on her appearance as they wrote, “love Savannah but she could have done without the botox in her forehead. Never moved while she talked.” And of course, her sneakers didn’t go unnoticed by the fans as one wrote, “Sneakers??? Embarrassing”
If her appearance wasn’t enough to comment on, viewers weren’t too impressed by Guthrie’s coverage of the coronation either as one fan wrote, “What is up with the incorrect names and missing background research??? Edward and Sophie are the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. The Earl of Wessex title has been passed to his son; for months now. Andrew is a Duke--he wears robes for coronation-its never his military uniform. For centuries now it’s ceremonial robes for dukes. Harry could have worn robes but he chose not to.” Guthrie will have a lot to think about on her flight back home!
Where is Hoda Kotb?
Apart from being unimpressed with Guthrie, ‘Today’ fans couldn’t help but wonder where Kotb was, and why she wasn’t covering the King’s coronation in London. One fan wrote under Guthrie’s coverage on Instagram, “So disappointing Hoda isn’t reporting,” and under the same post, another viewer wrote, “Why did they send her?” while talking about Guthrie. And once again, another fan wondered as they wrote, “Where is Hoda?” Let’s just say, the next time there’s an event thing, Kotb might be the one hopping on the plane.
