‘Saint Maud’, a “chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world”, follows Maud, a hospice nurse, and a newly devout Roman Catholic, who becomes obsessed with saving a dying patient -- Amanda, a dancer, and choreographer from the U.S. who is terminally ill with stage four lymphoma and confined to a wheelchair. Maud comes to believe that God has tasked her with saving the atheist Amanda's soul. But sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.

The debut film from writer-director Rose Glass, sees the ritual lead go from sugary sweet to murderous in a matter of seconds, and it promises, as do all A24 psychological thrillers, to be a breathtaking glance into a person’s slow descent into a psychotic break. The 31-year-old Welsh stage and screen actress is best known for her roles on Netflix’s mini-series ‘Dracula’, HBO’s ‘His Dark Materials’, and films like ‘Eternal Beauty’, ‘The Personal History of David Copperfield’, ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’, and ‘Interlude in Prague’.

The 51-year-old British-American actress is best known for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in the 1995 BBC miniseries 'Pride and Prejudice’. It is a performance that won her the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress. Her other notable roles in television include ‘The Camomile Lawn’, ‘A Gifted Man’, and ‘The Looming Tower’. Her film credits include titles such as ‘Wilde’, ‘Sunshine’, ‘The King's Speech’, ‘Contagion’, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’, ‘A Little Chaos’, ‘A Quiet Passion’, and ‘Little Men’.

Turlough Convery as Christian

The 35-year-old Northern Irish actor is best known for his roles in ‘Killing Eve’, and ‘Sanditon’. Convery has trained in Musical Theatre at the Guildford School of Acting -- he won the 2013 Stephen Sondheim Society Student Performer of the Year Award there. He has appeared in films such as ‘Ready Player One’ and television series such as ‘My Mad Fat Diary’, ‘Fresh Meat’, ‘Black Mirror’, ‘Poldark’, and ‘Les Misérables’.

Marcus Hutton as Richard

The 57-year-old Irish actor and voice-over artist trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Hutton’s prominent roles include playing Nathan Cuddington in Channel 4's soap opera ‘Brookside’ from 1998 - 2000. He has also voiced hundreds of radio and TV commercials in the UK and around the world. He has guest-starred in the ‘Doctor Who’ audio drama ‘The Church and the Crown’, and ‘The Kingmaker’.

Carl Prekopp as Homeless Pat

The 41-year-old British actor is best known for roles in the adaptation of Terry Pratchett's ‘Mort’, ‘Small Gods’, and ‘Night Watch’. In 2014, he voiced Lyman Lannister in the video game ‘Game of Thrones’. Prekopp has also voiced the character of Bill Connolly in the audio drama series ‘John Sinclair – Demon Hunter’. His other notable roles include ‘I Want Candy’, ‘Law & Order: UK’, ‘Lewis’, ‘No Offence’, ‘Call the Midwife’, and ‘Hard Sun’. 

The film’s cast also includes Lily Knight as Joy, Lily Frazer as Carol, Rosie Sansom as Ester, and Noa Bodner as Hilary.

‘Saint Maud’ had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2019, and was released in the United Kingdom on October 9, 2020. The film hit U.S. theaters in a limited release on January 29. ‘Saint Maud’ will arrive on Epix on February 12.
