Peter Dinklage just gave the sweetest speech after his SAG win but Twitter is still sore from the pain of the final season of 'Game of Thrones'. Dinklage bagged the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series. The actor, who played the smart and affable character of Tyrion Lannister, thanked his wife saying, "I'd like to thank my wife for putting up with me for more than 9 years, but lived in a place far away from home, but made it home."

Dinklage is married to Erica Schmidt, an award-winning playwright and director. The couple eloped in 2003, and have two children. Dinklage won against Sterling K Brown from 'This Is Us', Steve Carell and Billy Crudup from 'The Morning Show' and David Harbour from 'Stranger Things'.

He thanked his co-stars for the win and said, "I would like to thank the people of Northern Ireland who put up with us for nine years. I would also like to thank everyone at table nine and ten and beyond cause we put up with each other for nine years," he said.

Twitter was hit right in the feels. "Peter Dinklage's thank you to his wife was the sweetest thing ever," one fan tweeted while another said, "How cute."

However, many were still mad about what happened to their beloved show and the way the highly anticipated final season let them down. "When Dinklage wins yet another award, and Emilia doesn't even get nominated. No shade on Dinks, but he has enough awards already," said a fan. Another tweeted, "I love Peter Dinklage, but I still hated the last season of game of thrones."

A third one said referring to Emilia Clarke's fierce Khaleesi who is unceremoniously killed in the final season, "This is really sad. Not only does the show belittle, demean and kill off its strong female characters, but the strong females who acted those characters aren’t recognized for their achievements. Instead, peter Dinklage (who was great btw) gets award after award."

Another said, "I'm glad that despite the last season of #GameofThrones being lackluster, we all acknowledge how great Peter Dinklage was."

Dinklage received universal acclaim for 'Game of Thrones' and has won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series a record number of four times and has also received a Golden Globe for the role in 2011.
