‘The kind of film I grew up with’: Ryan Reynolds reminisces about ‘The Adam Project’ a year later with sweet tribute
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ryan Reynolds has traveled back a year to reminisce about his pandemic production, ‘The Adam Project’. Reynolds, 46, recently took to his social media to post a heartfelt tribute to the making of “the kind of film” he “grew up with”.
The 'Deadpool 3' star captioned the post, “One year ago today, #TheAdamProject came out on @netflixfilm. Or as it’s more commonly known, “14 Going On 31”.”
The Golden Globe nominee then continued to discuss the reason for his loving the movie, “I love this movie because it feels like the kind of film I grew up with. The kind of film that made me dream of doing this job.” In an effusive manner, the Marvel star continues, “Working with this incredible cast was unspeakably fun. I’m already on my third film with the great, @slevydirect and I know I speak for both of us when I say this film holds a soft spot in our hearts forever.”

'The Adam Project' Review: Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds pull off breezy action-comedy
The ‘Red Notice’ actor concluded the post by saying, “It’s also the inaugural voyage for the @groupeffortinitiative which has grown into a beast since then. [heart emoji].”
‘The Adam Project’ is a science fiction movie where Reynolds plays a time-traveling pilot who crash-lands in 2022. He then teams up with his younger self (played by Walker Scobell) to save the future from getting destroyed.
The movie also marks the second collaboration between Levy and Reynolds as they previously teamed up for ‘Free Guy’. Reynolds is currently shooting for their third collaboration, ‘Deadpool 3’, where he returns as the “merc with a mouth.” This also marks Levy’s entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He tweeted, "The third film in my Shawn Levy trilogy will be a tad more stabby."
Recently, in February 2023, news surfaced via The Hollywood Reporter that Reynolds is collaborating for the fourth time with the director for a musical comedy where both of them will co-produce the movie.

‘This was such a GREAT movie!!!’
The post elicited a plethora of heartfelt comments from the netizens, with one user commenting, “Love The Adam Project…. It made me laugh - I was expecting that…but it also made me cry - like a river - that I was so not expecting!!…unique story - an amazing cast!!!…Mark Ruffallo and Jennifer Garner,…and do not get me started on Ryan Reynolds and Walker Scobell!!!… Adult Adam… and Young Adam… these two were beyond perfection!!… love it!!”. While another Instagrammer wrote a heartwarming post, “I love this movie but it was so much sadder watching it with my dad who was dying of cancer at the time. Now he’s gone. I did have a lot of good memories with him & this brings back some though. Tell your parents you love them every chance you get. Hug them, call them, visit them. Enjoy your time with them now”. In a similar post, another user commented, “Probably lost to a sea of comments, but this was the last movie my Grandma and I watched together before she passed. Fitting as the core is loss. My love of movies came from her. It gives me a bittersweet feeling now, but a feeling I'll keep as long as possible. Thank you for everything you do, this movie was everything I needed it to be. She found you funny and charming.”
