As per DailyMail, following the match, Reynolds said, "I am not sure I can process what happened tonight. I am still little speechless. [People ask] "Why Wrexham?" This is why Wrexham. This happening, right now, is why. Boreham Wood showed up today. They are an incredible team. They have one of the best defences in the entire league. This entire story, the reason we are all on edge of our seats is because Notts County (the team in second place in the table) are so damn good. They deserve to go up. We are rooting for Notts County. We want to see them go up." McElhenney added, "I think we can hear what it feels to the town. It's a moment of catharsis for them and celebration. For us to be welcomed into their community and be welcomed to this experience, has been the honor of my life."
'Both of us had tears in our eyes'
Reynolds told BBC that he felt "unadulterated joy". "To see the joy on the players' faces and, of course, the entire stadium is what it's all about," he expressed. While McElhenney stated, "It's hard to put into words. I actually think I blacked out. I don't remember anybody running onto the pitch. I don't remember them being on the pitch so yeah, a bit of a blackout for us. So much of what we're feeling isn't so much to do with us winning, the club, it's the town - you're carrying the emotions of so many people in this town and it means so much to them. Fifteen years they've spent out of the Football League, which ends now, and I think that's all coming in like a bit of a tsunami moment and I think it's going to take a minute to process. Both Rob and I were up and watching and both of us had tears in our eyes and didn't quite know how to express what we were feeling."
The official Prince of Wales also congratulated the team of Wrexham, the third oldest professional football club in the world formed in 1864, and wrote on Twitter, "Congratulations @Wrexham_AFC! A club with such amazing history, looking forward to a very exciting future back in the Football League. Doing Wales proud."
