A source close to the royal family has revealed that the dynamic between Prince William and Harry has changed completely after the latter stepped down from his royal duties. There is no doubt that the two will always remain brothers but the bond is not the same.

The source told People that the brother’s relationship is “forever changed.”

“They won’t get back to the way they were. Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family. He’s not looking back,” the insider said.

As per reports, the first disagreement between the brothers emerged when William cautioned Harry about Meghan Markle when they were going out. William had advised his younger brother to take it slow with the American actress. And now, since the Duke of Sussex has decided to give up his royal roles, effective at the end of March, along with his wife, it has negatively affected the already fragile relationship between the princes.

William and Harry were 15 and 12 when their mother, Princess Diana, died. She hoped that the two brothers will always remain close and be the backbone of each other. However, now her wish does not seem to be getting fulfilled. Ingrid Seward, a veteran royal biographer who knew the late princess, said: “One thing Diana said was, ‘Please, whatever happens, remember you always have each other, and I want you always to stick together.’ And clearly that can’t happen for a long time.”

Meghan has already returned to Canada to be with their  firstborn, Archie, while Harry will join them soon in North America where they have been living for the past few months at a luxurious £14million waterside mansion. The Commonwealth Ceremony at Westminster Abbey on March 9 was the last public event for the couple as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

They attended the ceremony alongside other royal family members, where the Cambridges ignored them while Prince Edward, who was also present at the event with wife Sophie, tried to bridge the gap between the two couples as he took the seat between them.

“They are on different paths now. It’s just the reality of the situation,” a source earlier had said of the two royal couples.
