Meghan starts 'new life' as she returns to Canada for Archie while Harry remains in UK to finish meetings
Meghan Markle has already stepped into her 'new life' as she flew back to Canada to be with son Archie straight after the Commonwealth Day Service in London.
Meghan has reportedly returned to Vancouver Island to be with their 10-month-old child while Prince Harry stayed on in the UK to continue working on his causes, including the military, before giving up his royal title at the end of the month. He was at Buckingham Palace for meetings.
According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, the Duchess became emotional while saying goodbyes to royal staff. It is understood that Harry will join them soon in North America where the couple has been living for the past few months with their son at a luxurious £14million waterside mansion. The report also claimed that the couple is looking at rental properties in California, including an eight-bedroom Malibu mansion worth £15million, as it is close to Silicon Valley and Hollywood where the couple might have future engagements.
The couple’s last public event as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was the Commonwealth Ceremony at Westminster Abbey on March 9. They attended the event alongside the royal family, where Kate and Prince William ignored them while Prince Edward, who was also present at the event with wife Sophie, tried to bridge the gap between the Sussexes and Cambridges as he took the seat between them.
The fans of the royal family had accused the Cambridges of being rude towards the Sussexes as they did not interact initially despite Meghan giving a tiny wave and hello. Instead, they first greeted Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, before saying hello to Harry and Meghan. The Commonwealth Ceremony was said to be the grand finale of their “farewell” tour before they start their new life in Canada to become “financially independent”, although Prince Charles will continue to give private financial support to the couple. Also, from April 1, Harry and Meghan will not be able to use Sussex Royal as their brand.
